Word is that Jared Leto (Suicide Squad, Dallas Buyers Club) has joined the cast of director Denis Villeneuve‘s Blade Runner sequel. Leto joins an already bulging cast that includes Harrison Ford, Ryan Gosling, Robin Wright, Mackenzie Davis, Lenny James, Ana de Armas, Dave Bustista, David Dastmalchian, Sylvia Hoeks, Carla Juri, Barkhad Abdi, and Hiam Abbass. Leto’s character is still under wraps and your guess is as good as ours whether he’ll be a Replicant or play another role.
Sorry, but that green jacket he wore to the Suicide Squad premiere deserves all the Internet meme mockery it got. Little did we know that it was all a bid to catch the eye of the Blade Runner casting people. Hopefully he won’t try sending Harrison Ford any gifts while on set like he did with the Suicide Squad cast. Ford ain’t gonna put up with that shit.
What we do know is that the sequel is set several decades after the original Blade Runner. Production shooting should begin soon considering the October 6th, 2017 release date. There’s sure to a lot of effects needed in the production, all that rain remember.
As new details emerge, we’ll bring them to you here.
