Still trying to wash the nasty taste of the controversy surrounding this summer’s Ghostbusters reboot? Do you want to appreciate the original franchise without being reminded of all the sound and fury signifying nothing? The controversy and the reboot itself (depending on your opinion of it) certainly made it a difficult year for the Ghostbusters fandom. On the bright side for fans, today brought some excellent news to help put behind all of the nonsense.

Blitzway, a company that specializes in collectible figures, has announced a new line based on the original Ghostbusters. That’s right: Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Bill Murray and Harold Ramis’ characters are being idolized in a series of 1/6 scale figures set for release in the near future. These figures will be dressed in the same Proton Packs and jumpsuits that we all know and love, and each one will include a handful of accessories (including swappable hands) to customize your display.

If you’re looking to get even one of these figures, then we highly recommend saving up. Each figure will cost around $219, but for approximately $675, you can get all four figures and an exclusive Slimer figure in a special set. Add another couple hundred bucks onto that and you can get another set including a police barricade and a “No Ghost” sign light to spruce up your display for an estimated total of $900. If you know somebody who’s an avid figure collector, we suggest starting a pot with friends to help buy the $900 set.

These figures are sure to be the ultimate Christmas gift for any figure-collecting Ghostbusters fan. Just imagine someone opening a present like the top-tier special set; he/she would probably cry tears of slime. So be sure to keep a lookout for Peter, Egon, Winston and Raymond to hit retail; high quality figures like these are likely to see out fast. And for those of you thinking of scalping a bunch of these figures to sell to desperate buyers for three times the price, we here at Nerd Bastards suggest you delete your eBay accounts for the sake of a fair market.
