The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Joe Manganiello (Magic Mike, Pee Wee’s Big Holiday) is all set to take on Ben Affleck‘s Batman as fan favorite villain Deathstroke the Terminator. Affleck teased Deathstroke in a Twitter video last month and speculation on casting has been centered on Manganiello ever since. His name has come up before, when DC was casting Superman, Mangnaiello was one of the top names in contention until Henry Cavill sealed the deal and became the Man of Steel. When will Deathstroke make his big screen debut?
Geoff Johns, DC Entertainment’s President and Chief Creative Officer confirmed the casting for the Batfleck Batman movie during his interview with The Wall Street Journal. What he wouldn’t comment on was if Deathstroke would make an earlier appearance in the Justice League movie. Many are banking on Deathstroke making a cameo type appearance based on Affleck’s tweet.

There’s still no official release date there is a completed script said to be out there. The rumor mill has been very active, apparently there will be a ton of Batman villains in the movie as Affleck attempts to make:
the definitive Batman film. They want to tell the ultimate Batman story, and to do so they’re going to bring in all the big guns. They’re going to have a big, sprawling Bat universe already in place.
The latest rumor that makes a lot of sense if the amount of villains is correct would place Batman at Arkham Asylum, locked up with the very criminals he put there. Perhaps Deathstroke helps capture and put Batman behind bars in Arkham?
Deathstroke made his first appearance in Teen Titans. His son the Ravager had failed in his contract to take out the Titans, so Slade stepped in to set things right. Created by Marv Wolfman and George Perez, Deathstroke quickly became a fan favorite, getting his own series and becoming a solid DC go to villain. How he will fit into the DC Cinematic Universe is still unclear, but it looks like he’ll still be taking on contracts no one else can.
