As we are now full on into the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) with the upcoming Wonder Woman and Justice League films coming next year and more films following, fans wonder “What about Superman?” After all, Man of Steel pretty much kick-started DC’s shared universe. Surely Superman was going to get another sequel. A little while ago there were rumors that there would, in fact, be a second solo film for Kal-El (which means he’s not going to stay dead of course). Now it looks like those’s rumors are bearing fruit.
Superman himself, actor Henry Cavill’s management team confirmed that there is in fact, going to be a Man of Steel sequel. During an interview manager, Danny Garcia of the talent agency William Morris Endeavor (WME) was talking about her biggest client (and ex-husband) Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and how he’s taking the world by storm. During the interview, she let it slip that she has another superstar on her roster who’s also about to blow up even more. During which, she let the details about the upcoming Superman sequel slip out.
“Henry has a big appetite. We’ve been in a five-month period of time where he’s re-strategizing, acquiring property [for his production company Promethean], he’s filming [Justice League] now, he’s in development for the Superman standalone… he’s beginning to expand that world. It’s beautifully teed up. In a year from now, or two years from now, he’s going to be a force globally.”
While still no official confirmation from Warner Bros in regards to the Man of Steel sequel. But if it’s coming from his manager, you can be assured that it’s happening.
