Netflix Reveals that ‘Iron Fist’ Will Arrive When Spring Does; Plus Picture of Finn Jones Punching a Guy
How did you enjoy Luke Cage? The latest Marvel/Netflix hit the air (web?) this past weekend, which means we’re one step closer to seeing the team-up of all the Marvel/Netflix heroes in The Defenders. (It also means we got to enjoy another great Netflix series, but anyway…) Only one thing stands in our way now: Iron Fist. The fourth plank in the Defenders team has been assumed to be coming out in 2017, but with Luke Cage out of the way, Netflix is now officially putting down stakes for the man with the dragon tattoo and mad martial arts skills. When spring arrives, so will the Fist.
Netflix has officially declared that March 17, 2017 at 12:01am PST will be the official premiere of Iron Fist anywhere that Netflix is available. Finn Jones plays the Immortal Iron Fist Danny Rand who, after being missing for years, returns to New York City to fight crime and fight for his family legacy against the unscrupulous corporate robber barons that left his family for dead and took over his father’s company. The series co-stars Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing, David Wenham as Harold Meachum, Jessica Stroup as Joy Meachum, and Tom Pelphrey as Ward Meachum.
Netflix also released the above image of Danny Rand punching a guy. Likely this isn’t the first guy that Rand punches, and it definitely won’t be the last. Now that Luke Cage has premiered, expect the hype machine for Iron Fist to ratchet up, including this nifty teaser video:
So to rundown the schedule again: Luke Cage is out now on Netflex, Iron Fist will be available on March 17, and The Defenders will likely be released next fall. It’s also worth nothing that The Punisher starring Jon Bernthal is presently shooting around New York, but there’s no word yet on when we might see it. We’ll have more news as it develops.
