There’s nothing more infuriating than hearing the news about a Suicide Squad extended cut being released. With all the trailers and reports coming out before the release of the movie, the hype train was moving so fast, it could have gone back in time. Of course, when audiences finally saw the finished product, there was nothing more disappointing. After the bomb that was Batman V. Superman, this was supposed to be DCU’s savior. Instead, you paid $12 for trash. Now, if you want, you can pay double that amount for the same trash plus some new scenes that weren’t seen in the theaters.
To add insult to injury, the amount of additional footage only adds up to about 13 minutes. Here’s the unecessary announcent trailer:
Well there is 26 seconds of your life you’ll never get back. If there was any shed of light to be cast upon this, it would be that fans will get more insight regarding Harley Quinn’s (Margot Robbie) origin. Considering the amount of additional footage is so small, there is little reason to believe that any of this footage will contain much of Jared Leto’s “additional” scenes as the Joker. Remember, he allegedly said that there was enough cut from the movie to paste together a stand-alone Joker film.
The extended cut of Suicide Squad will be available on Digital HD on November 15 and on Blu-ray December 13.
