Though it is far more than most series ever get, seven novels, a collection of short stories, two World Book Day spin off books and eight movies is not enough to satiate the nerd cravings of the Harry Potter fandom. A musical set ten years after the books has been playing in London all summer and is sold out for its entire run, with the script published as a book flying off the shelves all over the world. The new film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, due in cinemas in November this year, is the next new foray into the magical world. From the beginning, it was not due to be a single film. When it was announced, it was said that other spin off films would be released as well that look at other aspects of J K Rowling‘s wizarding world, including potential one story about the life of a professional Quidditch player. A whole host of new movies were planned to explore more of the magical world and to allow Rowling to take fans to the places that until now have only existed her mind.
But now it has been revealed that the Fantastic Beasts coming out next month will not only be one of many spin offs coming out in the future, but it won’t even be the only Fantastic Beasts film.
In a Periscope live stream broadcast on the Fantastic Beasts social media channels, Rowling herself announced that there would be a total of five films in the Fantastic Beasts series.

A featurette from Warner Bros, released for the same fan event, added even more intrigue to the new series, with a trailer boasting even more yet unseen footage for the impending movie. What makes it particularly delicious is that it doesn’t just hint at what is to come, but also at how it connects with the wizarding world we already know and love.
