The third and final Wolverine movie won’t be hitting theaters until March 3, 2017, but that hasn’t stopped the marketing train from hyping the film early. There’s been a lot of stuff released for the film lately, including the films title, a look at one of the villains, a weary Charles Xavier, and several other teases. Now comes another reveal. Director James Mangold unveiled the first image of Jackman as Old Man Logan, and he’s looking as hard-bitten as ever.

Look at that. Jackman looks like a drunk Mel Gibson. All hardened in the face. And how about those scars? “I thought Wolverine was invincible, doesn’t he heal and shit” you might be wondering? Here’s a lift from the synopsis to explain:
Logan takes place in the year 2024…Old Man Logan is in full effect. Logan looks bad, and drinks a lot. For work, he drives a 2024 Chrysler 300 limo that looks modified in the front to look more futuristic. He’s sick, his powers are fading, and he heals much more slowly — and sometimes not at all.
Logan will be accompanied by the young mutant girl who is said to be X-23 and Charles Xavier, who in his old age will be struggling with maintaining his mental faculties and powers throughout the story. Mister Sinister and his “Essex Corp” were previously said to be the villain(s) of the film, with rumors pointing toward Richard E. Grant playing the villain, though it remains unconfirmed. We know that the primary villains for the film will include both The Reavers, lead by Boyd Holbrook’s Donald Pierce, as well as Wolverine’s favorite group, Weapon X.
Fans can only hope that Mangold delivers a serious movie as these gritty photos suggest – that FOX him do the kind of movie he knows how to make: melancholic and crepuscular movie.
