‘Thor: Ragnarok’ Video Shows Off A New Costume And Completely Confirms We’re Going Into “Planet Hulk” Territory
With production wrapping up for Thor: Ragnorak, director Taika Waititi shared a 15-minute video from the set of the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film. The third Thor-centric film in the MCU stars Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston reprising their roles as Thor and his nefarious brother Loki. Also in the film are Mark Ruffalo, Idris Elba and Sir Anthony Hopkins. Newcomers include Cate Blanchett, Jeff Goldblum, Karl Urban, and Tessa Thompson.
During the video, the cast jokingly chats about being “fired” from the film and many other things. Check out the video below.
One cool thing we also got to see is Thor’s new costume. While taking a political stance on the situation over the Dakota Access Pipeline, Hemsworth and Waititi posed for a photo, ad in the photo we get to see Thor’s new costume.
Another thing to take notice from the video, is that the character Miek was name-dropped I the video.
Miek is heavily associated with the Planet Hulk and World War Hulk storylines from Marvel Comics. Originally, Miek is a member of Hulk’s Warbound group. Miek was one of the original people from the planet Sakaar that Hulk fought in Gladiator-like battles and overthrew the planet’s dictator. Eventually, though, Miek operated similar to Loki, and encouraging Hulk to enact revenge on the people of Earth for banishing him to outer space during the events of World War Hulk. While we already knew that we would be getting a little bit of the Planet Hulk storyline in Thor: Ragnarok, this completely confirms that we’ll be heading to Sakaar. Perhaps we’ll even see more of the Warbound as well!
