When season one of Stranger Things came to a close, the final episode gave audiences a glimpse into everyone’s lives who had been effected by the events inside of Hawkins, Indiana. The boys went back to playing Dungeons and Dragons in their basement, the guy did not get the girl, and Eleven’s fate had been left opened to interpretation. However, what many have assumed has now been confirmed, Eleven will be back for season two of Stranger Things and that Millie Bobby Brown will reprise her roll as the frozen, breakfast food lover. Keep in mind, there might be spoilers inside if you haven’t seen the first season.

As Sheriff Hopper left those waffles inside the crate it was only a question of when Eleven would be back. However, the extent of her return remained a mystery. What is known is that season two will take place one year after the events that occurred in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana.  From here, things could go one of several ways. One direction the show could go is that she’s still alive and she’ll continue to help the boys out as Will Byers continued to have flashbacks of the Upside Down after his rescue.

Another direction is that the sacrifice she made will stick and audiences will just see her in flashbacks prior to her meeting the boys. A third direction is that she may not exist in the real world, but exists in the Upside Down. In science fiction, anything is possible, but first scenario is the one that will most likely happen considering Hopper placed those waffles inside of a box for Eleven to take – unless that was him just being overly optimistic.

Obviously there are numerous ways this could play out and speculating is a lot of fun, but in the end, it just speculation. At least one thing is certain, Millie Bobby Brown will be back as Eleven and she’s probably going to steal the show whenever she’s on screen.

Season two of Stranger Things is expected some time in 2017.
