‘Justice League’ Casts Ciaran Hinds As Steppenwolf

For a while it’s been known that Steppenwolf would be the villain for the upcoming Justice League movie, but what wasn’t known was who would be playing the role of the character. Initial rumors were that Charles Dance would play the part, however, those rumors turned out to be false. Instead, Ciaran Hinds will be playing the big, bad villain who is the uncle of Darkseid.

You’re probably saying to yourself right now, “That Ciaran Hinds looks really familiar.” Well, if you’re a big Game Of Thones fan you may recognize Hinds as none other than Mance Rayder. According to the report, Hinds has already finished filming most of the motion capture for the Steppenwolf who will, of course, be entirely CGI.

If his role as Mance Rayder is any indication, Hinds is an great choice for Steppenwolf – a character who is described as both powerful and a great military strategist. While some people will undoubtedly be disappointed Darkseid won’t be the villain of this movie, Hinds should be able to convince them that Steppenwolf was a fine choice in the end.

In case you need to be reminded, here is the official synopsis for the Justice League movie:

“Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes: Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash-it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.”

Justice League is scheduled to hit theaters on November 17, 2017.
