In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Tom Holland, Sony and Marvel‘s latest big screen Spider-Man, discussed his contracted appearances as everyone’s favorite Wall Crawling Web-Slinger and what the future looks like. What will make his Spider-Man stand out from Toby Maquire and Andrew Garfield‘s versions? Holland says,
I think the biggest difference is his youth and innocence.
Holland explained that he is currently contracted for three solo Spider-Man movies and three appearances in other Marvel films. He’s already done one of each with Captain America: Civil War and the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming.
They [Marvel] give you options and those could be exercised whenever. Like a cameo in Avengers. I’m unclear as to which movies though. I do know I have three Spider-Man [appearances in other] movies and three solo movies contracted. But if you have another movie, Marvel is so good at working around it. They’re very respectful of your life, really. They understand that you have to work on other movies, and they try and fix it up so you can work around each other.
His work in Captain America: Civil War was a bright spot for an already impressive movie. The back and forth with Robert Downey Jr. was fantastic and fans hope to see more of that in Spider-Man Homecoming.
What other Marvel movies might Holland show up in? Kevin Feige isn’t talking much on the subject, playing those Spider-Man cards close to the vest. Most fans are betting on an appearance in one of the Avengers: Infinity Wars movies, but until there’s an official announcement, it’s pretty much anyone’s guess at this point.
Spider-Man: Homecoming hits theater screens July 7th, 2017 and we should be seeing a series of teasers and trailers start to make their way onto the Internet soon. Until then enjoy this little THR photo-shoot video showing off Tom Holland’s dancing and physical movement skills.
