In an interview with Polygon, Hamill simply said that he loved his performance adding that,
“Everyone brings a different spin to the character and you have to look at each script separately. I don’t think there’s a definitive version of the Joker and I don’t think there can be. It’s like Hamlet, really. It’ll be constantly redefined.”
He also went on to say that he hasn’t seen version that’s made him say, “That was terrible.” He continued the interview by sympathizing with those who were upset in the direction that the DCEU was going in with their films. Although he managed to avoid giving any kind of specifics. Mark Hamill has always seemed like a genuinely nice person, so it’s no surprise that he would give these very general answers. He sounds like he has no intention of going out of his way to pick apart the work of another actor.
