Best known for her role as Daenerys Targaryen, the mother of dragons, Emilia Clarke, has been cast in the Han Solo movie. She’ll be joining Alden Ehrenreich who will play the leading role of Han Solo and Donald Glover who will play a young Lando Calrissian. According to several internet rumors, Clarke will be taking on the role of Sana Starros. She’s well known among fans of the comic books series. However, you have to remember, you’re dealing with Disney. So the likelihood of any of that happening is slim to none considering they uncanonized the EU for simplicity sake. Disney did reveal one small detail about her, but the rest is all hush-hush. To learn more about it, keep reading after the jump.
The news about Clarke was broken directly via the Star Wars website. According to the website, “Clarke’s role will round out a dynamic cast of characters that Han and Chewie will encounter on their adventures.” The biggest idea is that she will play a young Princess Leia, but don’t people realize how ridiculous the notion sounds? The likelihood of someone like Han Solo meeting the Organas is rather slim, not to mention, audiences would have heard about it throughout the other movies.
Clarke’s other film credits includes the failed Terminator Genisys sequel. On Game Of Thrones, Clarke has shown herself as a powerful woman and lead, so her casting in this movie is a good one which comes with no surprise. Earlier this month, it was revealed that Tessa Thompson, Zoe Kravitz, and Naomi Scott were also up for the role, but obviously lost out to Clarke.
The Han Solo movie was written by Jon Kasdan along with his father, Lawrence Kasdan. Star Wars fans need not worry about the quality of the film as long as the Kasdan’s were involved. As of right now, there is no official title for the film. You can expect the movie to take flight on May 25th, 2018.
