War has come to the Planet of the Apes and the Colonel (Woody Harrelson) is out to destroy Caesar (Andy Serkis) and all his kind in War for the Planet of the Apes. Interestingly enough, Caesar is fighting two battles in WFTPOTA, the obvious one with humans and perhaps the most important one, the battle against his darker instincts. Check out the new poster and trailer below.
Caesar and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel [played by Woody Harrelson]. After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the Colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both their species and the future of the planet.
Now things are heating up in the land of the Apes and the action looks fantastic. This should take the franchise full circle. In the original movies it started with Taylor traveling through time and arriving on the Planet of the Apes and then went backward in time in sequels to explore how that world came to be. This new one has skipped that, starting with the origin, could it end with Taylor arriving?
