Yesterday Guillermo Del Torro tweeted out a challenge to Hellboy fans, did they wanted to see Hellboy III… and could they get over 100K votes in 24 hours. If both happened, then Del Torro promised to have sit-down meetings with the Ron Perlman (Hellboy actor) and Mike Mignola (Hellboy creator) about Hellboy III. As one would expect, fans picked up that challenge and ran with it easily making the 24-hour deadline. Here’s how it played out on Twitter last night.
Informal poll (let’s see how many votes we get in 24 hours)

I spoke with Ron Perlman. He’s in for the sit down. Will approach Mignola next. Will keep you posted. Very moved by your love of pt I & II

Ron Perlman chimed in:
…and from HBI,II, and counting..michisimos gracias to all our loving fans everywhere!!! https://t.co/sNM7Lxv30d

Now here is the important part. Del Torro only promised to meet with Perlman and Mignola, getting meetings with the studios won’t be hard, but perhaps selling them on Hellboy III might not be as easy as asking fans to tweet a vote.
According to The Numbers, the Hellboy franchise I & II cost $142, 500,000 to make (reported budgets) and brought in $260,212,021 Worldwide. Now making almost double your money back seems like an easy decision, but with that much money at stake, it might take more than just one meeting to get things rolling.
Are you ready for more Hellboy?
