Shane Black’s Predator reboot/sequel, The Predator continues to grow an impressive cast as it is preparing to go into production next month. Already, the quasi-sequel to Predator and Predator 2 has the following actors associated with the project: Boyd Holbrook (Narcos, Logan), Olivia Munn (X-Men: Apocalypse), Keegan-Michael Key (Keanu, Key and Peele), Trevante Rhodes (Moonlight), and most recently, Sterling K. Brown (The People vs OJ Simpson, This Is Us, Black Panther). It Looks like the suburban-based alien film is adding yet another actor to the film.
Actor Thomas Jane (The Punisher, The Expanse, and countless others) has just been confirmed to be in negotiations to star in the upcoming film. As of right now, there is no confirmation as to who he will be playing in the tight-lipped film. However, given his performances in such films as The Punisher (and his independently financed The Punisher: Dirty Laundry) Deep Blue Sea, and others, he’s no stranger to action films.
It is rumored that the film will be based on a group of Predators (or Yautja as they are called in canon) will be hunting humans in a “more domestic setting” with Holbrook’s character as a former government agent leading the charge. This are still rumors that Arnold Schwarzenegger’s character Dutch from the original film will be returning, but no casting announcement has been made just yet. The film will be written and directed by Shane Black (who appeared as Hawkins in the original Predator movie) and is set to hit theaters in February 2018.
