Super Bowl Spot For ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales’ Offers A Ton of New Footage And a Cursed Looking Jack Sparrow
This summers biggest movies have found their way onto the Americas biggest stage… The Super Bowl. Not to be outdone like Guardians of the Galaxy before it, Disneys Pirates of the Carribean have rolled out a TV spot on today’s big game.
It’s has been nearly six years since we last saw Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow on the big screen in 2011’s Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, but Jack is back!
Several months ago, Disney had released a teaser for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales but it didn’t reveal much. The spot featured on the Super Bowl brought tons of new footage and our first look at Jack Sparrow, who is looking worse for wear; having apparently succumb to one of those curses that he’s managed to avoid his entire pirating life. Or, you know, maybe it’s he’s just covered in mud.
In case the newly released video doesn’t give you quite enough to go on, here is the Pirates 5 synopsis.
“Thrust into an all-new adventure, a down-on-his-luck Captain Jack Sparrow finds the winds of ill-fortune blowing even more strongly when deadly ghost pirates led by his old nemesis, the terrifying Captain Salazar (Bardem), escape from the Devil’s Triangle, determined to kill every pirate at sea…including him. Captain Jack’s only hope of survival lies in seeking out the legendary Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact that bestows upon its possessor total control over the seas.”
Deadmen Tell No Tales is set for release on May 26, 2017
