‘American Gods’ Finally Gets A Start Date

Starz has been creeping into the Original Programming territory for quite some time now. With such hits like Spartacus, Da Vinci’s Demons, Power, Black Sails, and Outlander, they have now caught up on the other pay channels in regards to providing quality Original Programming. When it was announced that they would be adapting Neil Gaiman’s celebrated novel American Gods, fans were eagerly awaiting the adaptation. The show will follow Shadow Moon (Ricky Whittle) as he becomes a bodyguard for Mr. Wednesday (Ian McShane) and slowly be drawn into the fantasy world of deities and be central in the war between the Old Gods and New Gods.

Production company, FremantleMedia North America, and Starz announced that the new show will hit the pay channel Sunday, April 30th. The series will debut publicly at SXSW March 11th at the Austin Convention Center during the festival and feature a Q&A with the showrunners and cast of the show including: Emily Browning, Pablo Schreiber, Crispin Glover, Yetide Badaki, Bruce Langley, Orlando Jones, Jonathan Tucker and Betty Gilpin. A new poster for the upcoming show featuring Shadow Moon and Mr. Wednesday was released as well.
