If the above 149 seconds is any indication, Wonder Woman’s big screen solo effort promises action, charm and even a little bit more humor than previous films in the DC Extended Universe had to offer. From sweeping Themyscrian vistas to World War One London, the film definitely has the locations down for a sweeping epic. Mix that with with the telling of Diana’s mythic upbringing set to against the backdrop of the Great War and even the most stubborn of naysayer and cinematic cynic has to have their interests piqued.
Is it June yet?
Directed by Patty Jenkins and starring Gal Gadot and Chris Pine (as pilot/love interest/man candy, Steve Trevor) along with Robin Wright, Lucy Davis, Lisa Loven Kongsli, Danny Huston, Elena Anaya, Ewen Bremner, Saïd Taghmaoui and David Thewlis, Wonder Woman hits theaters June 2nd.
Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers … and her true destiny.
