Thank God for corporate synergy! Star Wars Celebration, the annual fan commemoration of all things Star Wars, is just a couple of days away from beginning at the Orange County Convention Centre in Orlando, so the hype is about to beginning even earlier. Not that Star Wars needs the hype help, but when the parent corporation of Star Wars also owns a broadcast network with a morning show, hype is easier to come by. So Star Wars will celebrate tomorrow morning on Good Morning America, but what are we celebrating specifically, and with who?
It’s the Star Wars announcement 40 years in the making, says the below ad on GMA’s Twitter feed, Oh yes, it’s the 40th anniversary of Star Wars this year, but the next movie in the saga is also coming out this year. So what might Mark Hamill and Daisy Ridley be announcing tomorrow? They’re both the stars of the upcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi, but it could be almost anything. Don’t look for any hints in this 14 second tease though.

The most likely suspect would be a Last Jedi trailer. We have yet to see an inch of footage from the film, and Lucasfilm has previously said that they were waiting for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story to run its course before starting before launching the promotional campaign for Last Jedi, and what came out on Blu-ray last Tuesday? It’s also been assumed that Celebration would make the ideal launching point for that campaign and a first trailer, and if ABC can help things out a couple of days early then so much the better.
Celebration happens April 13-16 (aka: this Thursday till Sunday), Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens later this year on December 15.
