Word around the Internet Grapevine via The Hollywood Reporter, is that Josh Brolin (Jonah Hex, Men In Black, Avengers) has signed a four-picture deal to play Cable, aka Nathan Christopher Charles Summers, first in Deadpool 2 and then X-Force and others? While it shouldn’t surprise anyone, besides Ryan Reynolds, the soon to be Deadpool franchise has been making casting decisions from left-field since the beginning.
Now Ryan Reynolds Twitter has been silent on this casting so far, which is kinda strange, but Stefan Kapicic, who plays Colossus had this welcome for Brolin:

Writer Rhett Reese had this tweet:
At last we can say. Josh Brolin is Cable!

Cable’s history is twisted, as one would expect from a time-traveling superhero mutant. Basically, he is the son of Scott Summers aka Cyclops and the clone of Jean Grey who had to be taken into the future for his own survival and safety. We’ll see how all this is revealed when director David Leitch tackles the Deadpool 2 screenplay written by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, along with Ryan Reynolds input. On set shooting is set to begin this June in Vancouver.
What do you think of this casting choice?
