The CW has announced their hit Zombie-themed crime comedy is being renewed for a fourth season and the horde couldn’t be happier! The series is currently running its third season and has run through six of its planned 13 episodes before its scheduled to take a break following the season finale on June 27th. The move to renew the series is a bit surprising given the numbers being drawn in, but The CW doesn’t appear to be worrying too much about that and iZombie fans couldn’t be happier.
Fans have been waiting in anticipation of cancellation as the midseason show’s third season came close to the halfway point, but The CW finally announced yesterday that the show would return. This is great news for fans of the comic-inspired series as well as fans of the Zombie genre.
The current season of iZombie has taken a few steps outside of the original format with more revelations of the ongoing Zombie plague and the underlying threat to the people who have been infected. We don’t want to drop any spoilers in this update since the network hasn’t released much information, but for those who have been following the show, they know it can only get crazier from here on out.
Based on characters created by Chris Roberson and Michael Allred, and published by DC Entertainment’s Vertigo, iZombie is from Spondoolie Productions and Warner Bros. Television, with executive producers Rob Thomas, Diane Ruggiero-Wright, Danielle Stokdyk and Dan Etheridge. It stars Rose McIver, Malcolm Goodwin, Rahul Kohli, Robert Buckley, David Anders and Aly Michalka.
There isn’t any word on who will be returning for the fourth season as of yet–The CW has only revealed that the show will return thus far. We can expect the main cast to come back and could see some new faces appear as well.
iZombie airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EST on The CW and will likely remain in that timeslot in the upcoming season.
