So what’s Transformers: The Last Knight about? That questions persists no matter the trailer, or clip, or any piece of promotion they release for the film. This movie is bizarre. It’s got Autobots, Decepticons, Dinobots, Nazis, Arthurian lore, Academy Award-winner Sir Anthony Hopkins… Talk about a mixed bag. Adding confusion to the confusion is this new international trailer for the fifth in the Transformers series, which shows off a bunch of stuff happening at the bottom of the ocean, and in space, and on the moon, and at Nazi headquarters, and some point, all of this will probably make sense. We hope.
Look upon the new international trailer for Transformers: The Last Knight and despair.
Let’s see if we have this right: Anthony Hopkins knows the millennia old secret to the Transformers involvement on Earth, which involves secret missions in Nazi Germany in World War II, so he recruits Cade Yeager and some British woman to journey to the bottom of the ocean and discover some Transformers thing, while Optimus Prime has gone evil and brought some other giant Transformers thing to the Earth that destroys the moon and every helicopter in stock with the American military. Random thought, does Cade’s love for Prime save the day like Diana’s love for humanity in Wonder Woman? Sure looks that way.
Mark Wahlberg and Stanley Tucci from Age of Extinction, join forces with Josh Duhamel and John Turturro return from the first trilogy and join Hopkins, Laura Haddock and Isabela Moner in a brand new Transformers adventure that will set up the next dozen Transformers movies for years to come.
Transformers: The Last Knight will be in theatres everywhere on June 21.
