Ever since he debut in Captain America: Civil War, fans have been eagerly anticipating for T’Challa to have his own solo film. His character was fresh, fun, awesome, and had a great arc in last year’s superhero ensemble movie. With an upcoming movie on the way, and a kickass cast (Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Daniel Kaluuya, Forest Whitaker, Angela Bassett, Andy Serkis, Martin Freeman, and more), Black Panther is one of Marvel’s most anticipated movies for next year.
Earlier today, Marvel released the first poster for next year’s Black Panther with the promise of a trailer during tonight’s NBA Finals game. Well, the game is on (and the Cavs aren’t going away quietly), and they debuted the teaser trailer for Black Panther.
Wow. Just Wow.
This is the textbook definition of a “teaser” as we primarily got “money shots” and weren’t spoiled by it giving the whole movie away in the trailer (something that happens far too frequently in trailers nowadays). We got to see Everett Ross interrogate Ulysses Klaue as T’Challa and Okoye watch from behind a glass. Then we are treated to a plethora of great shots: the Dora Milaje (Black Panther’s all female bodyguards) in action, Black Panther in action, as well as Erik Killmonger (who looks exactly like he does in the comics). February can’t come soon enough!
Black Panther hits theaters February 16, 2018.
