Deadpool 2 is presently shooting in and around the Vancouver area, and star-spotters are scouring the streets of the city looking for Ryan Reynolds, both in and out of the famous mask of the Merc with the Mouth. Now though, at least for fans of a certain New Zealand comedy from the director of Thor: Ragnarok, there’s another celebrity in the greater Vancouver area worth keeping an eye out for. If you’re a fan of Taika Waititi‘s Hunt for the Wilderpeople – and why wouldn’t you be? – be on the look out for Ricky Baker who may be riding a tall man in a red and black suit and armed with swords!
Kiwi actor Julian Dennison, who is most famous for co-starring along side Sam Neill in the unconventional backwoods buddy comedy Wilderpeople, has been announced as part of the cast of Deadpool 2. Of course, by “announced” we mean “Ryan Reynolds posted a picture to his Instagram feed.”
Waititi gave the casting his thumbs up on Twitter saying, “Never in my wilderpeoplest dreams would I have imagined this picture existing. But…. Yessss.”
Along with Dennison, Josh Brolin and Zazie Beetz are joining the cast as X-Force members Cable and Domino. From the first film, Brianna Hildebrand, Stefan Kapicic, and Leslie Uggams are all confirmed to be returning, this time, under the director of John Wick co-director David Leitch. Deadpool 2 is scheduled to be released on June 1, 2018.
