Oh, how we have suffered in the last seven years without a new Saw movie in our local multiplexes at Halloween. Of course, when we say “suffer” we don’t mean it in the same way that Jigsaw’s victims have suffered, and it could be argued that we haven’t suffered because watching people suffer isn’t really meant to be enjoyable. In other words, if you’ve been looking forward to more Saw, you’re sick. So here’s your trailer for the next chapter, Jigsaw, coming this Halloween.
So it’s all here: overly elaborate and exotic deaths, creepy puppet on a bike, creepy people in pig masks, messages on audio tape (although Jigsaw upgraded to an SD card in that one scene), beautiful Toronto parkscapes, and a victim group filled with attractive Canadian actors, which this time includes Laura Vandervoort, Hannah Anderson, Callum Keith Rennie, and Clé Bennett. This time, Daybreakers directors Peter and Michael Spierig are calling the shots, so there maybe some room for anticipation that this will not be just another Saw entry, but we’ll just have to reserve judgment until seeing it.
By the way, here’s a poster:
Plot Synopsis: Bodies are turning up around the city, each having met a uniquely gruesome demise. As the investigation proceeds, evidence points to one man: John Kramer. But how can this be? The man known as Jigsaw has been dead for over a decade.
Jigsaw will be in a theatre near you on October 27, 2017.
