There is a lot of excitement for the return of DuckTales later this summer. For people that remember the good old days of the Disney Afternoon in the late 80s and early 90s, it’s a nostalgic whiff of greatness that is sure to get a lot of people to tune on the name alone, forget the fact that almost everything we’ve seen so far says this is not you, or your parents’, DuckTales. You get a pretty good idea about how those new dynamics will play out in the clip below, a scene from the new series that takes you to that beloved Disney locale, under the sea!
In the below excerpt, we see Scrooge McDuck on the search for the lost continent of Atlantis with sidekick Launchpad McQuack. One of the first things you’ll notice is that great pains have been taken to give Huey, Dewey and Louie different personalities, and the second thing you’ll notice is that Scrooge is a little more prickly that you might remember him being. But enough commentary, let’s cut right to the DuckTales. Woo-oo!
The new series features the voice talents of David Tennant (Scrooge), Beck Bennett (Launchpad), Danny Pudi (Huey), Ben Schwartz (Dewey), Bobby Moynihan (Louie), and Kate Micucci (Webby).
DuckTales launches its all-new adventures on August 12 on Disney XD.
