Every year, fans come in droves to San Diego Comic Con. Among those fans, there are those who brave the heat and wear elaborate costumes to show their support for their favorite characters. Extensive research, planning, and construction can go into these labors of love. Other times, it’s just cardboard and paint. Whatever the level of skill and commitment, one truth is clear: everyone loves cosplay! Without further ado, here are some of the cosplayers we encountered at this year’s San Diego Comic Con.
Obligatory Rex and Stormtrooper.
Some nice details here.
ROO! FEEEE! OOOOOOOH!!
Might as well have cosplayed as tombstones.
Winner of the “You tried” Award. *not an actual award.
Even Hanzo doesn’t like Hanzo.
Not nearly as sad as Luke should be.
As always, Maul makes everything better.
How does he go to the bathroom?!
Great armor and a great RDJ look alike.
When asked what the time was, he did not disappoint.
Winter is here. Right here.
Creative positioning of the Cloak of Levitation.
Let them fight!
Hammer not to scale.
I thought the Beast was taller?
Complete with her Multi-pass.
Steampunk Slave Leia. ’nuff said.
No one wakes up in the morning thinking that they are going to see a sleepy Robin Dog. Or a Jurassic Deadpool fighting Godzilla. Or an Old Luke Skywalker missing a button on his tunic. Or a full-figured Rufio. Or a Steampunk Slave Leia. Yet, here we are, at the most revered and hallowed ground for all of nerdom: San Diego Comic Con. While the majority of Con-Goers opted for attire that would help them avoid heat stroke, these brave cosplayers donned armor of plastic, polymers, layers of cloth, and who knows what else. Anyone dedicated enough to construct and wear layers of plastic, deserves to be showcased.
Hope everyone had a great Con!
