Fresh off the news that Michelle Pfeiffer will be playing Janet Van Dyne in Marvel/Disney’s upcoming Ant-Man sequel Ant-Man And The Wasp, we have learned that Judy Greer will return to reprise her role in the sequel. Greer played Scott Lang’s ex-wife, Maggie Lang, so her return indicates there will still be some family drama for our hero moving forward.
The news of Greer and Pfeiffer’s casting is just the tip of the iceberg on what is going on with the film. Very little information has leaked out of the studio and Disney is keeping all information pertaining to the plot sealed. The last time we saw Lang’s Ant-Man, played by Paul Rudd was in Captain America: Civil War where he was being rescued from the Raft prison alongside Falcon and the other Avengers that sided with Cap, so he may still be dealing with the fallout from Civil War.
Other than that, we know that Rudd will return as the lead alongside Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne. Michael Douglas and Michael Peña will also return to reprise their roles from the original film, and Peyton Reed is returning as the director.
Greer’s schedule is full so her ability to return is good news for fans. In addition to Ant-Man And The Wasp, she will be working on MGM’s remake of Valley Girl, Richard Linklater’s Where’d You Go Bernadette, and Clint Eastwood’s next film, 15:17 To Paris. Currently, Greer can be seen on the silver screen in Fox’s War For The Planet Of The Apes.
Ant-Man And The Wasp is scheduled to hit theaters on July 6, 2018.
