Lucifer has been going strong for 3 seasons with no signs of slowing down. Bringing in fan-favorites Tom Welling and Tricia Helfer on board didn’t save the show from its inevitable fall from grace. The rumor started going around and has been confirmed by members of the cast. Fans and actors alike have taken to social media to air their grievances and discuss what the future holds for their beloved show.

Cast and fans alike had taken to social media in recent weeks, urgent Fox to hashtag-RenewLucifer for the 4th season. Actors and fans have begun using hashtags like (ironically) #SaveLucifer, as well as tagging Hulu, Netflix, Amazon, and NBC since the cancellation. All this is trying to generate buzz and prove how many people want Lucifer to stick around for a while. An hour after Tom Ellis tweeted a confirmation of the cancelation #SaveLucifer hit #1 on the Twitter’s worldwide trends list.

Other actors have also spoken up. DB Woodside said “I’m too angry & heartbroken right now guys. I’ll have more to say later. But you ALL are absolutely amazing. Thank you.”
Lesley-Ann Brandt who played Lucifer’s confidant Maze made a lengthy and heartfelt post on her Instagram holding a Lucifer comic book.
Lucifer actress Rachel Harris, as well as the LuciferWritersRoom account, are tweeting and retweeting in support of finding Lucifer a new home and getting the show trending on social media.
Joe Henderson, a showrunner for Lucifer commented on Twitter as well. “So… yeah. #Lucifer has been cancelled. And it fucking HURTS. I loved this show so damn much and everyone put their heart and soul into it. Heartbreaking doesn’t begin to describe.”
He also chimed in with – “We created a season finale with a huge cliffhanger so that there was no way Fox could cancel us. Instead, we’re going to frustrate the hell out of you fans. I’m so sorry for that.”

Adding The Exorcist to the list of Fox’s cancelation sins, fans of the shows feel Fox has some things to answer for. NBC also had numerous cancelations. Quantico‘s cancelation upset quite a few vocal fans. NBC also officially canceled Marvel’s Inhumans. Who knew that was still an option??? Syfy canceled The Expanse, also in its 3rd season, adding to the internet’s collective woe. Syfy’s other cancelations, Dark Matter, Blood Drive, and Ghost Wars were announced at earlier dates with Superstition still awaiting renewal. Fans of Syfy’s other shows can breathe a little easier.
