Mark Poynter

  • Profile: At 45, Mark has newsstand bought comics older than most of the other writers at Nerdbastards in his collection. Growing up nerdy means that Mark remembers things like big floppy disks, bank accounts before ATMs, having VCR parties to record bootleg copies of Anime and BBC TV shows, and when U.S. television only had three channels and required bunny ears to get a clear picture. Years of sitting the nerd sidelines suddenly exploded when asked to write an introduction to an article on Nerdbastards. The rest they say in hushed whispers . . . is history.

Just when Ben thought he was out, Maul drags him back in. Seriously, didn’t he cut that dude in half? It’s hard not to be impressed how the animated Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels writers managed to bring back Darth Maul while keeping him so fraking cool. Now it looks like we’ll have a battle no one could have imagined back in 1999 as Darth Maul comes out of the desert to face his most hated enemy. (more…)

Now you can finally hear Emma Watson singing as it should be heard, not from some toy recording. Beauty And The Beast has released Watson singing Something There from the B&B soundtrack. This is the song Belle sings after Beast saves her from the wolves. She then bandages his wounds and they have their first turn around the library. While we would have liked to hear some of the other actors singing voices, particularly the inanimate objects come magically to life played by Ian McKellen, Josh Gad, and Emma Thompson, this is a good start.
