  • Profile: At 45, Mark has newsstand bought comics older than most of the other writers at Nerdbastards in his collection. Growing up nerdy means that Mark remembers things like big floppy disks, bank accounts before ATMs, having VCR parties to record bootleg copies of Anime and BBC TV shows, and when U.S. television only had three channels and required bunny ears to get a clear picture. Years of sitting the nerd sidelines suddenly exploded when asked to write an introduction to an article on Nerdbastards. The rest they say in hushed whispers . . . is history.

While Ben Affleck will be doing appearances and press for Warner Bros. Justice League this weekend, word is making the Internet rounds that the powers that be at WB are planning on gracefully recasting Affleck from the role for future movies. Now this isn’t to say that Affleck might still don the cowl for one more movie after Justice League, but going forward Warner Bros. is most likely already looking for another actor. (more…)

Stan Lee has just joined a very select group of Hollywood stars immortalized in the concrete in front of the TCL Chinese Theater on Hollywood Boulevard.  The 94-year-old signed his name and then imprinted his hands and shoes in the cement pad in front of family, fans, and friends. Kevin Smith, Chadwick Boseman, Clark Gregg, Kevin Feige, and Todd McFarlane spoke at the ceremony. Check out the video below. (more…)

Marvel‘s new series Runaways has had a new trailer put on the Internet, not through official channels it seems, but the new Hulu bound series trailer does show the whole gang and sets up the series premise of super villain parents and the teenagers that discover their parents horrible secret. The second trailer for Denis Villeneuve‘s Blade Runner: 2049 has hit the Internet after its premiere on Good Morning America and it raises the stakes for humanity as an unknown voice states: “The future of the species is finally unearthed.” Which species though, Humanity or Replicant? The first trailer for A Wrinkle in Time directed by Ava DuVernay (Selma, Queen Sugar) and based on the novel by Madeleine L’Engle has hit the Internet and promises to deliver on the beloved tale. The cast is packed with talent, Oprah Winfrey plays Mrs. Which, with Reese Witherspoon as Mrs. Whatsit, and Mindy Kaling as Mrs. Who. Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Chris Pine play Meg’s parents, who is played by Storm Reid. Check it out below. (more…)

A couple of new on set pictures of Tye Sheridan in costume as Cyclops gives the character a new but familiar look with updated “everyday” visor and casual wear.
