DC Universe offers more than the DC content already released – DC Universe plans to release original content and give fans access to their digital comics, members-only merch, all in one place. Disney is known for their squeaky clean, family-friendliness. There are parents throughout American who trust Disney with protecting their children from anything obscene or inappropriate, to the point of allowing their children to watch only Disney films exclusively. It’s this image that Disney wants to preserve, and in doing so fired James Gunn for a series of jokes that were, admittedly, off-color, black humor that wasn’t appropriate for public consumption. But when we look closer at Disney’s not-so-distant past, the company and the man it’s named for aren’t so squeaky-clean either. As fans, family, and friends clamor for Gunn to be given a second chance we look back on Disney’s own sordid past. How many chances has The House of Mouse been given?

The Princess of Power makes a come back on Netflix! And her new look is stirring up emotions in internet trolls everywhere. They can’t get over her knew look! The internet is buzzing with talk of ‘the ideal woman’ and She-Ra’s boobs. But why are internet trolls climbing out of their basements to gab away about an 80s cartoon reboot designed for young girls?

Back when Saturday morning cartoons were the reason for existence, the majority of 80 and early 90’s kids were watching such classic action/adventure cartoons like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Transformers, G.I. Joe, Thundercats, He-Man and the Masters of The Universe and so on. In the mean time, there were other more obscure cartoons. Animated series that all but a few can vaguely recall. Some good. The new animated Spider-Man movie trailer has been a pretty big hit. With 16M views on YouTube in a matter of days since the official trailer released. Several familiar names, or rather voices, star in the movie. But who are all the names behind the masks we see in the trailer?  As nerds, bastard-like or otherwise, cartoons are at the core of what started the love of all things nerdy for the vast majority of the community. Nerds are exposed to them as children and from then on the seed grows. Cartoons can shape and inform what we choose to indulge in as adults. Nerds rally against any change or reboot or reimagining of our beloved childhoods, some even going so far as to say that these changes ruin what came before. As the years roll by we tend to look back on the cartoons so endeared to us with rose-tinted glasses. But do they hold up? Were our cartoons as good as we remember them being or are they better left in the rear-view mirror we call nostalgia?

First Look At ‘She-Ra’ Reboot Coming To Netflix

That’s right. The Princess Of Effing Power is coming to Netflix. The 80’s cartoon that saw moderate success as a the spin-off of He-Man is being rebooted by DreamWorks with the creator of Lumberjanes spear-heading the project. DreamWorks could give us a solid reboot for a beloved cartoon that sorely needs the update. Familiar names lend their voices to the series and gives us hope for the future of She-Ra. (more…)

You might not have seen an episode of Rick and Morty before, but chances are you know exactly who the nihilistic Rick and his neurotic grandson are. If you have seen an episode, you’ve probably seen ALL the episodes several times and have begun to wub-a-lub-a-dub-dub to Justin Roiland’s Twitter post revealing there are enough new episodes coming to keep the show on screens for years to come. It didn’t take Rick nine seasons after all for the creators of Rick and Morty nor did it take 97 more years: Dan Harmon and Justin Royland scored some for real and the Internet is abuzz with the news! It wasn’t just the co-creators either, the whole team behind the hit show got a chance to try some of the McDonald’s Teriyaki Szechuan Sauce made famous recently by the first episode in the third season (and the film Mulan it was used to promote all the way back in 1998). Not only did news of the tasting hit the web, they released a video of them trying it!

Thanks to Netflix, a new generation of fans are being brought into the world of Voltron (with the release of Voltron Legendary Defenders Season 3 just dropping this morning!). Back in the 1980s, kids could play with a special die-cast set of all the tigers and combine them into a tall Voltron set. It was cool, but it was also very expensive so few kids had them and they are highly collectible now. With so many new toys hitting the market, it’s time for a new Voltron set anyone can afford and play with, so LEGO has come to the rescue by approving a fanmade set of the legendary hero!
