The form of Cosplay has seen it’s share of good, bad and fugly (talkin to you, fatties in spandex) but there are a select few who do it better than anyone else. Fortune may favor the bold but so to does it favor those that are bountiful in bosom and buttocks and are true to the culture of nerd. Very rare does one encounter a curvaceous, curiosty such this. Meagan “VirtualGirl” Vanburkleo is more than a nerd with a vagina. A comic book connoisseur. A masquerading madam. A voluptuous vixen that proves that a nerd males unrealistic fantasy of the female form can be real. Her embodiment of ample chested comic heroines and villains such as Witchblade, Magdelena, Poison Ivy, Catwoman, Wonderwoman, Zantanna and many others are rivaled next to none.

How awesome is this? Clever fellow and perhaps mad genius Chris Dimino designed a cuckoo clock that replicates one of the most famous scenes of Stanley Kubrick’s adaptation of Stephen King’s “The Shining.”
Every hour, Jack Nicholson (as Jack Torrance) breaks through the door and shouts, “Heeeere’s Johnny!”, followed by a scream from Shelley Duvall. Kickass, right?
Alas, while you can’t traipse down to Target to pick one up just yet, hope springs eternal that one day you could have this baby on a wall to scare the bejesus out of your guests.
It got me thinking about other ideas for similar clocks. Maybe a chestburster from “Alien” popping out of John Hurt every hour? Or a head-explodey-guy from “Scanners” clock? The scary thing is that I bet someone out there is feverishly working on a Tubgirl cuckoo clock.

Note: If you don’t know what Tubgirl is, for the love of baby Cthulhu, don’t look it up. Especially if you have a pudding cup in your lunch today.

Well, here’s the HD Wii Console everyone has been waiting for. Yesterday, Sony had a conference at GDC and it was all about one thing, the PlayStation Move. Sony talked about how the Wii gamers will eventually buy a HDTV and would want a HD Console to play motion control games, so they are hoping those audiences to “move” towards the PS3 as they say, it does everything. With certain games, players will either use one or two Move controllers or one Move controller and a Sub-controller (ala Nunchuck for the Wiimote). A lot of people have been bashing it calling the Waggle 2.0 or like joked above, Wii HD, but there are people who got their hands on the device and was very impressed with it. As far as how your resident PS3 fanboy feels about it, well, just have to wait and see when it comes out as I will buy it just to try it out (or if Sony would like to help this poor college student out, GIVE ME ONE!!!). Either way, Sony does want the PS3 to do everything as they will also have the firmware update to play games in 3D with the new 3D HD TV’s coming out later this year. What do you guys think? You think too late for Sony to try to do this and tha Microsoft’s Project Natal is the future? Or does the Move seems good and it will probably be a hit. Well, I wasn’t expecting this. yet alone NickToon’s to pick this up. Just this morning, it was announced that Nickelodeon spinoff channel, NickToons (which airs nothing but old and some new cartoons such as the new Iron Man cartoon), will start airing the filler-less Dragon Ball Z Kai starting in May. As said, Dragon Ball Z Kai is a remastered, re-cut version of Dragon Ball Z but with none of the fillers or extra stuff that wasn’t in the manga. The airing should coincide when th DVD and Blu-Ray is released. Of all channels, NickToons ends up picking this us and not Cartoon Network/Adult Swim. I know Toonami has died years ago but I was kind of hoping for them to pick up the series that helped get them ratings in the past, then again, they don’t even have Naruto: Shippuden, Disney XD does. Oh wells, anime on TV has been a bit rare lately seeing how most people that watches anime will watch it online anyways, either way, I’m glad to see DBZ Kai airing some where.

While writing this, it was just updated that they will also air a new Voltron, titled Voltron Panthera Force. No info on the show yet we should expect to see something soon. Hmmn, so we get a less screaming version of Dragon Ball Z Kai and a new Voltron…either way, one of these shows may ruin someones childhood.

Here at nerdbastards we love everything in nerd pop culture (obviously). So it makes sense that when someone mashes together two separate pop culture things to make something funny or in some cases better we go nuts over it. Just when we’ve thought we’ve seen everything some cheeky bastard (Katamaran78 on youtube) goes and makes our heads explode. With one of the coolest mash-ups we’ve ever seen: “Battlestar Galactica” set to the Beastie Boys‘ “Sabotage” with scenes cut to mirror the iconic ’90s/faux-’70’s music video (copied nearly shot by shot).

This video was so freaking cool, it will make any Battlestar fan want to watch the whole series all over again but perhaps skip the finale, nobody needs to watch that mess again.

From the beginning of time there has been one thing that has baffled and fascinated men. Fascinated them to the brink of madness, to full scale war and sometimes even horrific crimes. These things are not uncommon, and are not too often overlooked. In fact they are constantly ogled, studied and discussed. What could these possibly be? Boobs. Not just normal boobs though, celebtitties. In many years of being a film buff I have compiled a list of favorites from full on exposure to a snippet of a first time starlett that wasn’t yet famous. The best are the celebs who made their nude debut after years of coy shyness, just to have a ,no pun intended, unveiling. If you have your favorite breasts to discuss, comment away. All these females are amazing specimans to say the least in the male objectification of women… 

10) Amy Smart- “Road Trip” A young and teeny tiny Smart shocked audiences by so casually removing her clothing for Breckin Meyer while being filmed. Not afraid to show her junior petites, her ass won a special place in my heart too by making full back panties hot.

9)Cindy Crawford- “Fair Game” The first and last time anyone knows that Cindy Crawford flashed a bit of flesh until later in Playboy. This was the only reason anyone needs to see Fair Game.

Heather Graham- “Boogie Nights” Ah, Mercedes from License To Drive in everyones fave late 80’s film. No one saw hide nor hair of this cute little chick until her love scene in Boogie Nights where she yanked off her one piece dress and revealed….Two very large unexpected surprises, amongst other full frontal things…

7)Anna Paquin-”True Blood” Not the silver screen, but enough of cinema and a first for the exemplary chested Paquin. Its like she did it once, like heroin, and does it every episode now…Her loss of clothes is our gain.

6)Halle Berry-”Swordfish” Yes, “Monster’s Ball” was far more sexual, but the first time we got a glimspe of her warlocks it had been many years and many teasing photoshoots. We were all agape when the unveiling was first announced and even more so at the scene itself. Ordinary performance, extraordinary chesticles.

5)Rosario Dawson-”Alexander” This horribly long winded, poorly acted, bi curious, super expensive film had only ONE good part in it. Ok, TWO really good parts in it. Dawson’s first and only nude scene to date. It was very hot, considering the unexpected romp between her and a blond wigged Colin Farrell. I don’t think anyone expected them to be so large and full. Awesome first try out the gate!

4-Jamie Lee Curtis-”Trading Places” Ok, so her yogurt commercials have diminished her early 80’s hotness. And thinking of her being “Regular” doesn’t lead one to think she had the hottest bod back in the day. Before her sexy strip tease in “True Lies” she got naked in numerous scenes for this rated R comedy.

3)Angelina Jolie- “Gia Another TV Movie“, but a movie nonetheless. This was the role that won Jolie her first award and let America know how hot she was, as well as bat shit crazy. None of that matters when she is standing there topless for the first time, and her porcelain skin makes you wish you were dead knowing you would never get a girl like her…..Get your glasses and look hard.

2)Kate Winslet-”Titanic” Were they talking about the ship? Or the young starletts full and curvy frame? I don’t care, It was a beautifully eloquent and lovingly sexy scene. But guys who got dragged in by their girlfriends were just happy to see some skin during the 4 hour epic. Talk about epic.

1) Eva Mendez-”Training Day” Her first REAL movie that she didn’t know would springboard to a bigger career. I don’t think SHE even knew she would get famous, and is apparently comfortable with nudity. As Denzel’s hot chick, she has a non chalant scene of nudity for the briefest flash of terrific boobs. America (Me) fell in love with her that day.

In case you need evidence that people were on drugs in the 80s, you’re in luck this May, because that’s when Warner Home Video will release its Saturday Morning Cartoons: 1980s Volume 1 DVD.

Like all drug dealers, they offer you some good stuff–a chance to own episodes of the beloved “Thundarr the Barbarian“–before sticking you with the shit that’s cut with baby powder. You’ll get to enjoy (maybe that’s too strong a word) “The Biskitts,” “The Flintstone Kids,” and “Monchichis.” To be fair, though, you also get to watch the Mr. T cartoon, imaginatively called “Mr. T,” in which in addition to pitying fools and suckas, he also coaches a coed gymnastic team and drives a van. Because that’s not creepy or anything.

If that’s not enough ass-kickery, there’s also “Chuck Norris: Karate Kommandos.” Hells yes.

Other shows represented include “The Completely Mental Adventures of Ed Grimley,” “Galtar and the Golden Lance” (no, that’s not a porn title), “Dragon’s Lair,” “The Kwicky Koala Show,” and “Goldie Gold and Action Jack.”

That last one isn’t a porn title, either.

Now keep in mind this is only the first volume. We can only hope the second volume will include more classics like “Pac-Man,” “Rubik the Amazing Cube,” and “Turbo Teen.”

I never noticed how so many cartoons sound like porn.

The set hits shelves on May 4 and lists for $26.98. BYOB.

Admit it. When that harpoon speared Wash in the latter third of Joss Whedon’s Serenity, you felt like your own heart was being staked, didn’t you? Thanks to an upcoming one-shot from comic and actor Patton Oswalt, you’ll soon get a chance to honor Wash’s memory and learn more about him.

According to MTV (and tipped to us by The Hollywood Reporter) Oswalt’s comic, called “Float Out,” will focus on the late pilot’s friends, who buy a ship and take her out for her maiden voyage. These friends, whom we haven’t met through “Firefly” or Serenity yet, will share pleny of stories about Wash (played on tv and film by Alan Tudyk).

The title will be published by Dark Horse Comics, home of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 8 comics. Interior art will be done by Patric Reynolds, while Jo Chen takes on the cover art (shown above)

Personally, I can’t wait to pick this up when it’s released June 2. Wash’s death was fast and mean, and it left a huge hole in the rest of the Serenity crew. I really hope the new book will explore some funny memories about Wash. Maybe Zoe had met some of his friends?
