Look out, World, Zach Snyder, the man behind the movie 300 and the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has a passion project and it involves, you guessed it, America’s first president. You can’t blame him, of course, there hasn’t really been an epic movie chronicling George Washington. That’s not to say there haven’t been other adaptations of president’s lives. 2012’s Lincoln grabbed some Oscars, and 2015’s Hamilton is a Broadway success sure to go home with some Tonys. But The Father of His Country? He hasn’t had a real moment in the spotlight. Apparently Synder wants to give that to him. But in the style of 300. Oh boy… (more…)
Frank Miller is known for being a writer that commands an almost “genius” status. His work on Daredevil back in the 80’s is the stuff that legends are made from and his Sin City and 300 comic book properties have been made into movies that are jaw-droppingly beautiful and stylish – artistic in all of the right ways. In other words, when Miller speaks, many people listen, and with good cause. His recent remarks regarding one of the most popular characters that he has worked on, however, may have a few fans scratching their heads. (more…)
The new trailer for 300: Rise of an Empire begins with a line about “the ecstasy of steel, flesh, sweat and muscle, rage… war.” One might think the filmmakers are trying to sexualize war, but it’s Eva Green saying the line, and she could sexualize the instructions for making chicken soup, so there you go. This is the new trailer for the 300 sequel, and it begs the question: When did Zack Snyder become a brand? But if you’re in the mood for more slow-mo action, and CGI sets, and pontificating about dying with honor in battle, good news! Watch the trailer below. (more…)
300 Rise of an Empire is going to be one all-out-balls-to-the-wall-action-filled-ride, and that’s exactly how we like it. This time around there’s a new TV spot that doesn’t try to wow us with glorious Shakespearean acting, but punches us in the gut with some good old-fashioned earth-shattering action. (more…)
It’s still a ways off, but the folks in charge of the upcoming 300: Rise of an Empire are throwing out some more marketing material for you to feast on. This time around, yet another poster (they sure do seem to make a lot of these things…). Scroll down to check out Themistocles (Sullivan Stapleton) stabbing something and being all bloody and what-not. (more…)
While I wish I could give you more footage to watch from Amazing Spider-Man 2 and 300: Rise of an Empire, the latest bit of marketing happens to be rather unmoving. Unmoving as in they’re a couple of posters, not as in they produce a coldness in your heart. Anyways, look down for the newest in Spider-Man and scroll down further if you want to have a look at 300.
There’s a new trailer making the Internet rounds for director Noam Murro‘s 300: Rise of an Empire, the second film in the 300 franchise. It’s got all the slow motion sword swinging action any fan of the 300 franchise can hope for. (more…)
The International trailer for Naom Murro‘s 300: Rise of an Empire, based on Frank Miller‘s graphic novel Xerxes, is making the Internet rounds. The sequel to the popular 300 retains that unique visual style and looks as well as the blood-splattering-slow-motion action of the franchise.
This trailer is only 60 seconds long, just enough of a taste to wet one’s appetite. The story picks up just after the story ends in 300. Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro) is still intent on conquering Greece, the battle takes to the sea as the Greek general Themistokles (Sulliven Stapleton) unites all Greece to stop him.
Let us know what you think in the comments section below, will you be in a theater seat opening weekend?
300: Rise of an Empire hits theater screens March 7th, 2014.
SDCC ’13: Warner Bros. & Legendary Panel Live Blog – ‘Godzilla’, ‘Seventh Son’, ‘300: Rise of an Empire’, & More!
[Editor’s Note: At this very moment, Manny Lozano, one of our embedded reporters, is getting comfortable in Hall H preparing to live blog the Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures panel in where they’ll be previewing Godzilla, Seventh Son, 300: Rise of an Empire, The LEGO Movie, and Edge of Tomorrow. We’ve already had a taste of Godzilla with Manny’s report from the Godzilla Encounter, and we’ve seen trailers for Seventh Son and The LEGO Movie. We’re not entirely sure just who’ll be appearing on the panel, but I know Manny will let us know the minute things start. For more info on the panel, here’s a link to the official SDCC schedule. Once the panel starts, keep refreshing for updates.]
[UPDATE: This panel has since concluded. Hit the jump to view the original live blog commentary. Thanks for tuning in! Coming soon, the live blog of Lionsgate’s Hall H panel.]
Though Zack Snyder may be busy doing his Man of Steel thing, that doesn’t mean that people have stopped production on the 300 sequel. In fact, 300: Rise of an Empire is pretty much done at this point. And while we do have to wait nearly a year before we get to see the finished product, the boys at Spartan Marketing Inc. have at least seen fit to feed us a new poster and trailer. Check out all the burly men in their underwear that you can possibly stand below.
Well, I have to say that at first glance it looks kinda ridiculous to me. If you feel different about the flick, check out 300: Rise of an Empire when it hits theaters next year on March 7th.
Thanks to screenrant for the heads-up.
