Last night, on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., we find the team tasked with cleaning up the mess left by Thor and his battle with Malekith and the Dark Elves, as seen in Thor: The Dark World. In an almost completely unrelated plot, when a piece of alien technology that was left behind thousands of years ago gets into the wrong hands, the team is in danger of being torn apart from the inside.
Every day the internet produces an astounding amount of goodies and gems. Most hilarious, some amusing, but all worth at least a few seconds of your time. We here at Nerd Bastards try to bring you the best bits of news and nerdery the webz has to offer, with a bit of snark thrown in. But sometimes not everything makes the cut. Monday through Friday we’ll be bringing you our inbox leftovers, our forgotten bookmarks, the nerdy bits that simply slipped through the cracks. You can submit items to Nerdy Bits by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Above: We feature a lot of great cosplay here and elsewhere on Nerd Bastards, but rarely do you get the chance to show off so much great cosplay in one place. This group of Batman heroes and villains is almost unparalleled. No one’s slacking here. For more awesome shots, courtesy of Tony Quan, check out Fashionably Geek.
With all of the comic book movie excitement going on right now, Marvel Studios is gearing up for Thor 2 and another trip for us back to Asgard. They’re currently in talks with Mads Mikkelsen (Casino Royale, Valhalla Rising) about taking on the role of some unnamed villain in the upcoming film. He’s got the right look about him, that’s for sure.
While we have no idea who he would be playing if he takes on the role, we do know that Tom Heddleston will reprise his role as the demi-god’s brother, Loki.
The sequel will be directed by Alan Taylor, who was the man behind Game of Thrones, so that’s promising. We also have Don Payne and Robert Rodat working on the screenplay. Filming starts later this summer (so a decision will have to be made soon!) and the release date is currently set for November 2013.
Who would you like to see Mikkelsen play?

I really enjoyed Marvel‘s latest film, Thor, and thought that the acting was well done, the effects were amazing and it really helped made a god look human.
And yet, the ending did seem a bit anti-climactic didn’t it?
Yes everything is made right in the world, but Asgard became irreparably damaged in the process of Thor saving the day. So, what if things happened a bit differently?
What if the final battle between Thor and his brother Loki never happened? What if Thor decided to just stay on Earth with Jane?
Much thanks to the fantastic website, HowItShouldHaveEnded.com, for showing us just how fantastic it could have been!
