Cartoon Network‘s new Saturday morning cartoon programming, DC Nation seems to have been a success and it’s at least partially because of the new and inventive shorts they’ve been creating especially for the morning block. These funny shorts have featured a variety of characters from Plastic Man to Catwoman to Wonder Girl and they’ve been handled by a variety of creators like Aardman Animation and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic‘s Lauren Faust.

Check out two new clips from this coming weekend’s DC Nation. The first features Animal Man and it’s quite different from what you’ve been reading in his monthly comics, that’s for sure. The second one is another clip from a new Super Best Friends Forever and this one’s all about Batgirl.

You get ready for the day one foot at a time, slipping your undergarments on and putting on your “super-suit” to get through the day. DC Comics is now giving everyone the opportunity to live out their nerdy fantasies under their every day attire, with the release of new DC superhero inspired panties, bras, bikinis and boxers. Spencer’s and Diesel are said to be the first store chains to distribute the DC undergarments, so you should see them at a store near you in the next month.

Comic book lovin’ ladies, if you can’t find the right bikini that’ll get you enough spring/summer sun, then take a gander at the following photos of DC bikinis set for Spencer’s which are: Batgirl, Supergirl, and Wonder Woman. Now gents, we aren’t leaving you out! If you want some manly garments that’ll make the ladies swoon here is what Diesel has available for you.

If you’d like to see writer Veronique try on one of these DC outfits to see if it can handle a ‘Latina’ body, share with your friends or like 100 times.

Cartoon Network
is only weeks away from rolling out their new Saturday morning line-up of toons, DC Nation. The block will include new episodes of Green Lantern: The Animated Series and Young Justice, as well as a slew of animated shorts all featuring DC characters. Thanks to the new Nerdist Channel we’ve got our first sneak peak at a short starring Plastic Man,

Voiced by Tom Kenny, who a few years back was part of the Plastic Man series that never happened, Plas will be starring in all new animated shorts. In addition to Plastic Man, there will shorts starring the Doom PatrolTeen Titans, and Batman shorts animated by Aardman Productions. Y’know, the guys behind Wallace and Gromit!!

The one show I’m most excited about in the new DC Nation block is Super Best Friends Forever from Lauren Faust. She’s the ultra cool lady who played part in creating My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Powerpuff Girls, and Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends. Now she’ll be bringing her genius to Supergirl, Batgirl and Wonder Girl! Needless to say, I’m stoked. Thanks to TV Guide we’ve got our first look at the girls,

This bit from the article explains the show,

A humorous tone runs through all the shorts, including S.B.F.F. (short for Super Best Friends Forever), which stars Batgirl, Supergirl and Wonder Girl and “has plenty of action and fighting, but is really much more focused on comedy and laughs and how much fun it is to be a superhero,” says producer Lauren Faust.  ”It’s like taking a teenage experience but putting a superhero spin on it, in one episode, Supergirl and Batgirl try to convince Wonder Girl to sneak out in Wonder Woman’s invisible jet to go for a joyride.”  Guess even supergirls just wanna have fun.

What a great reason to wake up early on Saturday mornings!

DC Nation starts on Cartoon Network March 3rd at 10a (ET/PT).

The Interwebz is a great place for nerdy art and the like. A lot of the time it’s crazy things like seeing the aftermath of Shredder from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fisting goatsie, or an all furry orgy featuring Alf, Chewbacca and Cousin It. Hey, it’s the internet folks. There are also a lot of awesome acts of nerd art that we see on a daily basis, and we round them up for your viewing pleasure.

ABOVE: Yes, that is Batgirl laying on the side of the Batmobile as Batman drives on two wheels, what you think they are always grim and serious? Artist Dennis Culver and his piece Batgirls Do It Well gives us some insight into the commissioner’s daughter and her wild side. [Geek Tyrant]

Every day the internet produces an astounding amount of goodies and gems. Most hilarious, some amusing, but all worth at least a few seconds of your time. We here at Nerd Bastards try to bring you the best bits of news and nerdery the webz has to offer, with a bit of snark thrown in. But sometimes not everything makes the cut.

Monday through Friday we’ll be bringing you our inbox leftovers, our forgotten bookmarks, the nerdy bits that simply slipped through the cracks. You can submit items to Nerdy Bits by emailing us at nerdybits@nerdbastards.com

Because apparently devoting hours upon hours to World of Warcraft online isn’t enough, now spend hours playing some of the longest board games all steeped in Word of Warcraft-iness. [Geekologie]

There are also a lot of awesome (non soul destroying) things that we see on a daily basis, and we round them up for your viewing pleasure.

The Interwebz is a great place for nerdy art and the like. A lot of the time it’s crazy things like Wonder Woman BDSM, Spider-man shooting “web” all over Mary Jane, Miss piggy in the middle of a pig roast orgy and all other kinds of ungodly things. But there are a lot of awesome things that we see on a daily basis, and we’re lazy nerd bastards so we just round them all up once a week for your nerdgasm glory.

A voluptuous Iron Girl, do I need to say more?  It’s in no way objectifying….

Now this is the proper use of Superheros in advertising. “Nos Hace Poderosas” translates as “The Iron Palace.” Despite sounding like a torture chamber night club, it’s a department store in business since 1879 that got name from being the first building made of steel in Mexico City. Why can’t J.C.Penny or Macy’s run ads like this?

The tagline at the end translates to “Women have always known that a change of clothes makes us powerful.” What floor are the capes and spandex on? The women are portrayed as strong, sexy, and powerful. I just hope the store’s perfume sprayers are dressed up as heroes as well.

The Interwebz is a great place for artists to share their nerdy work, even though the majority of the time it’s a bunch of fuckin’ weird shit. There are a ton of awesome things to behold every day but we’re fuckin’ lazy bastards, so we just put it all together once a week to keep your mojos happy. Because I wasn’t able to get the stock pile up last week, we’ll be having a double feature this week showcasing only the best of the best from the past two weeks! Buckle down, guys, and have your socks at the ready.

We’ll start off this week with some work by Marco D’Alfonso of the Iron Giant being fuckin’ hungry and deciding to nom himself some Optimus Prime.
