Just when we thought that Marvel Studios wasn’t going to give us anything new in the ways of casting announcements (aside from the confirmation of the long presumed Black Panther supporting cast, of course), they brought her out! Brie Larson, Academy Award-winning actress for Room, highly-acclaimed for her roles in Short Term 12, The Spectacular Now, and will always be remembered for being Scott Pilgrim’s evil ex Envy Adams, was now a Marvel superhero. With the fanfare now having died down, let’s ask Kevin Feige why, after months of speculation, that he and Marvel settled on Larson to fill the boots of Captain Marvel. (more…)

As reported earlier in the week, Oscar-winning actress Brie Larson (‘United States of Tara,’ ‘Community,’ ‘Trainwreck) is in negotiations for the lead role in the upcoming film from Marvel/Disney ‘Captain Marvel.’ The 26-year old Sacramento, California native is even listed on IMDB.com as ‘rumored’ for the role. The film is still looking for its director.

Though a decision has yet to be made for the lead, the actress is reportedly the studio’s top choice and Brie is interested in taking on the role. We also now know two new names which have been added to the list of potential directors. Still, everything is in negotiations and not confirmed by the studio.

In the meantime, with Larson’s name being dropped in conjunction with the film, fans began wondering, “What would Brie look like as Captain Marvel?” Thanks to some crafty individuals, we now have a couple of images of fan artwork depicting Larson as Carol “Captain Marvel” Danvers. (more…)

Ok, we’ve known for a while that the Terminator film franchise will be getting a reboot, with three movies in the works. According to Deadline, Alan Taylor (Thor: The Dark World, Game Of Thrones) will helm the first installment, and either Emilia Clarke or Brie Larson (both also from Game Of Thrones) will star as Sarah Connor.

Now THR is reporting that a new television series, which will tie in to the cinematic reboot, will be produced by Skydance Productions and Annapurna Pictures(more…)
