Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Yesterday the first full trailer for Captain America: The Winter Soldier debuted and it was awesome. Excuse me, it was fuckin’ awesome. So awesome, I couldn’t really imagine how it could get any better. That was until Daily Asgardian News suped it up with the patriotic classic, “America, Fuck Yeah!” from Team America: World Police. Premiering online well before its theatrical bow with Thor: The Dark World, here’s your chance to see Falcon fly, helecarriers take off, and Cap and Black Widow flirt(?). With the first trailer for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, we also get a sense of the film’s themes, like Captain America’s struggles with the post-War on Terror philosophy of protection, a lot of Robert Redford in his mysterious role as a S.H.I.E.L.D. big wig, but what we don’t get is a lot of the titular adversary. I guess they’re going to save some Winter Soldier for trailer number two.

Anyway, enough about what you can see. Time for you to see it…

Hasbro recently released a slew of  new “official” pictures (that’s marketing lingo for pictures not taken with a cell phone) for the toys created in conjunction with the upcoming movies for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, as well as the latest Star Wars action figures. Two weeks ago Deadline picked up on a story Marvel was considering expanding upon their recent television venture of Agents of SHIELD with an Agent Carter series. Something similar to what we saw in the Agent Carter short featured on the Iron Man 3 Blu-ray/DVD.

Atwell was also asked if she saw the news of a potential Agent Carter series,

There’s a story that often repeats itself in Hollywood. Creator/writer sells a script or story to a movie production company. Later, the creator/writer can’t hardly recognize any of their work besides the title and a couple of character names. Yeah, I’m looking at you World War Z. Thankfully, that’s not the case with Ed Brubaker and Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

The countdown to Thor: The Dark World is slowly clicking down and the powers that be at Marvel and Disney‘s promotion and marketing departments are beginning to stir from their deep, dark pits into the glaring sunlit internet.  It’s not like I needed another reason to go see Thor: The Dark World, I’m already on the Asgardian bandwagon, but now I’ll get the added treat of seeing the first trailer for Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Although, most likely I’ll have already seen the teaser and full trailer on the internet. Thor: The Dark World opens internationally before the November 7th USA opening, and we all know some enterprising YouTuber will get their hands on some grainy, shaky phone footage.

You can’t beat seeing it on the big screen though, that’s often the time when people who might not have been planning to see the movie, or even knew it existed, make up their mind about seeing it or not.

Here’s a synopsis if your just now finding out about the sequel:
