To fuel the desire for Legendary’s upcoming Warcraft movie, eight new movie posters have now appeared on our horizon. Coming out June 10th, 2016 this film takes place during the First War between Humans and Orks. Set during the reign of Llane Wyrnn 1, father of Varian Wyrnn, it aims to be an origin story for a whole movie franchise based on their popular World of Warcraft games. This movie might be the one to break the wall of horrible game movies and shine brightly, but until we know that for sure, many well-known figures from the game make their way center stage in new posters. Of all the reveals concerning the main cast of the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron (just three more weeks!), the reveal of Vision is the most recent. The android character has been a part of the Avengers in comic book form for decades, so to nerds of a certain persuasion this is going to be a pretty big addition to the repertoire of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now you may recall that last month a character poster was released for everyone in the movie, up to and including Ultron, but Vision was suspiciously absent. But now that he’s been shown in full courtesy of Entertainment Weekly, Vision can take center stage in his own piece of promo. (more…)
As we count down to the release of Guardians of the Galaxy, prepare for a full blown media assault: Videos! Posters! Press Junkets! Red Carpets! The whole Hollywood enchilada! Next on the hit parade an extended clip, a trailer promoting the IMAX version of the film, some character posters featuring the film’s myriad of villains, and images from the red carpet of last night’s world premiere. I don’t know about you guys, but I was a little freaked out the first time I say the trailer for Maleficent in the movie theater, because Angelina Jolie looks like she walked out of the damn animated movie Sleeping Beauty with her portrayal. The awesomeness of Angelina Jolie is foremost on the mind of the cast and crew of Maleficent in a new featurette for the film. Along with that, Disney’s released five new character posters, which paints kind of a dark picture of the pending events in the film, which I guess is apropos when the villain is the main character. There’s a new Jupiter Ascending trailer hitting today, but until we get our latest glimpse of the Wachowskis’ Cloud Atlas follow-up in motion, we have two “side of a van” worthy character banners to whet our appetite. One has Channing Tatum flashing his beefy tattooed arms, while the other features Mila Kunis looking like she’s waiting to get admitted into a free Ben Kweller show at SXSW.
Paramount has released a pile of character posters today for G.I. Joe Retaliation each one premiering on a different site on the ‘net. Seriously Paramount? You’re going to make me surf back and forth over the internet for these?
While I found 2009’s G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra very painful to watch, I will not lie. I am really looking forward to this movie. From the trailers to the stills, it looks like a damn fun one.
As for the posters we get Cobra Commander (whole finally looks like Cobra Commander) Snake Eyes (Ray Park), Storm Shadow (Byung-hun Lee), Jinx (Elodie Yung), Lady Jaye (Adrianne Palicki), Roadblock (played by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson), Duke (sadly still played by Channing Tatum) and Bruce Willis, who stars as Bruce Willis.

Tickets for the midnight screening of The Avengers are already on sale, with some theatres selling out, but only if you live in these select cities. If you don’t live anywhere near those towns you can wait until March 16th when tickets go on sale just about everyone where else. In anticipation they’ve released this map marking where tickets are already on sale. Y’know, just to stab you in heart with the fact you live no where near any of those Avenger logo targets and twist it. Marvel marketing, you cruel bastards.
They’ve also released new posters (see below), which are the same as the old posters, but photo-shopped just enough we’ll get excited and want one anyway. And that’s good news because these are poster you’ll be getting if you purchase the Ultimate Marvel Movie tickets. For all the info on the marathon as well as when you can purchase tickets check out their Facebook page.
‘X-men: First Class‘- directed by Matthew Vaughn– tells the story of the formation of the X-men through the events of Charles Xavier (Professor X) and Erik Lehnsherr (Magneto) early friendship. 60’s, mutants and mayhem….Blah, blah blah. Y’all know that. The recent trailer did it’s justice in capturing attention. Had a bunch of snappy cuts and a ominous score. We even got some nice characters posters for Magneto and Xavier, but they’re international so they don’t count. Since then however, the US marketing seems to have taken a nose dive. Namely with the domestic character posters for Magneto and Xavier (Above). They are black and white silhouettes with floating heads inside their pants. They’re pretty much the worst movie posters known to man. Unless of course you like crotch posters. You would think/hope a major studio would hire a crack team oh artists to make killer posters for the flick. Maybe something retro looking. Something inspired by 50s illustrator Saul Bass. Which is exactly what user Duckala and posted on the cookdandbombd forum (sample above). They’re awesome and FOX should take notice. You can check out the collection after the jump.
In other First Class coverage, here’s a not-too-revealing look at Lucas Till as Havok standing in a burning hangar. It’s still a mystery on what the heck Havok is doing in this flick in the first place. In Marvel history, Havok is the brother of Cyclops, who doesn’t factor into First Class at all, and who preceded Havok’s involvement with the X-Men. Though, Bryan Singer did say this version of the character is not related to Cyclops. That just makes it all the more dumber.
