Shared universes. In comic books, it helps maintain continuity and allow for superheroes to be aware of one another and become involved, if need be. It’s the cornerstone of having a universe-wide event that spans across many, or all, of the titles the publisher produces. But the concept of multiple universes, or multiverses, may be too much for a non-comic book reader to grasp. The CW’s ‘The Flash’ has done a great job at explaining different universes existing, such as Earth 2, where it shows similarities to the world you know, a universe running parallel if you will, but with some deviations that define it as a different world. A shared universe would be better received by ALL fans, regardless of comic book knowledge, and would make for compelling scenarios both of the small screen and the big. But a number of actors have expressed their frustrations at their not being included in the film properties’ plans. The latest to speak up? ‘Arrow’s Willa Holland. (more…)

Agents-of-SHIELD-Season-3

When last we left Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., a war between S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Inhumans was averted, but not before a few Terrigen crystals fell into the ocean, were ingested by fish that were then taken from the sea by fisherman and turned into a variety of fish products. I wonder what happens now? If you said random people emerging with Inhuman powers, you’re either a genius, or you’ve see the first five minutes of the season premiere of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The new season begins in full this coming Tuesday, but Marvel and ABC have released a pretty effective teaser for the season premiere. (more…)

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. began life as a meditation on what it’s like for ordinary people to be surrounded by a world where the extraordinary is possible, but the upcoming season seems to want to turn all that on its head. For season three, the question is how can the ordinary cope when they’re suddenly extraordinary? ABC has released a 30-second promo for the upcoming new season of S.H.I.E.L.D., which will explore how Coulson and his ragtag crew of world police men and women will help the emerging Inhuman community as they join a world that will likely fear and hate them. ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Presents – Skye 3.0

quake

For those of you who managed to make it through the first season of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and were treated to the ever-improving second season, you may have noticed now much of a bad-ass Chloe Bennet (AKA Skye) became as the story progressed. She went from a childish hacker to a full-fledged S.H.I.E.L.D. agent to a woman of massive super powers and the character is much more interested for it. Now, with the third season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. coming up in September, Skye’s character will be taking on even more changes, including a new haircut and a new name. Scroll on for the details. New ‘S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Promo: Skye is Feeling… Inhuman

agents_skye_quake

When we last left Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D Well, how do we put this, $#!% was going down! It’s been a long break between episodes and the show left us hanging at such a momentous point, the introduction of the Inhumans. Now, there’s an Inhumans movie on the way, coming soon to a theater near us… In four years. But S.H.I.E.L.D. made a huge leap in continuity relevance by introducing such an essential piece of lore for the development of Marvel’s Cinematic Universe. (You know, because they can’t use the ‘M’ word.) With a little over a week till the return of S.H.I.E.L.D., ABC is now teasing what fate awaits one of the show’s key characters now that what’s Inhuman has been unleashed. (more…)

Agents-of-S.H.I.E.L.D.-Season-2-Premiere

You can read out recap of last night’s monumentous Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. midseason finale here, but before you go there’s at least one detail we must discuss in full. First though, who would have guessed that this time last year S.H.I.E.L.D. would leave us on the edge our seat like that? The fights! The reveals! The potentially game changing consequences! What a rush! Having eight weeks of Agent Carter crammed in between now and more S.H.I.E.L.D. almost seems like a punishment now (no matter how much you may or may not be looking forward to Agent Carter). Haven’t seen the episode yet? Avert your eyes because we’re about to confirm that Skye is indeed the specific Marvel character she was revealed to be last night…. (more…)

It’s just seven more sleeps until Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns with all new adventures that will pit Agent Director Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) and his ragtag crew against a world that sees S.H.I.E.L.D. as the bad guy. We’ve seen a sneak peak, but now through the power of social media we get our first good look at next week’s season premiere. The show left a lot of dangling threads when it went on hiatus in May, and it seems as though S.H.I.E.L.D. is going to waste no time in dropping some new clues to those lingering mysteries. So what do the S.H.I.E.L.D. gang have in store for season 2? Let’s check it out. (more…)

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been pretty shy about treading new water in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and has seemed content to revel in what’s been done so far, but that seems to be changing, and has been changing, in recent episodes. Recently, the series unveiled the method of Coulson’s resurrection, a serum from a mysterious blue alien. The origin of the alien has been much discussed, and while nothing’s ever been confirmed, the consensus was that the alien was a member of the Kree Empire. Believe it or not internet, you were right. At least according to series star Chloe Bennet. (more…)

nb-SHIELD-s01-e06“A little heavy on the Iron, but don’t worry, you don’t have to start calling me Iron Man”

God, the superhero references tonight were so cheesy, but this one was just… Bad. Luckily for us, the show was as good as that reference was stupid.

This week, Coulson and the crew have got what looks like some sort of telekinetic, electrostatic asshole, who likes to levitate people in the air whilst sending a shock through their forehead and frying their brains. However, when the crew realizes that not only did the two victims know each other, but that they were first responders during the catastrophes of The Battle of New York, the gang assumes that we’re looking at a murderer, who may in fact be using an alien weapon left behind by the Chitari invasion.
