Toys that take already established characters and re-imagine them in completely new ways are awesome, especially those that utilize some of the coolest characters ever established in Star Wars.
That’s right, I’m talking about the Bounty Hunters!
Boba Fett is one of the coolest characters in all of Star Wars, so it is natural to wonder what he would have looked like in different eras, such as WW2. But, if you are going to include one bounty hunter, why not include the rest, like IG-88 and Bossk?
Jonathan Kuriscak, a fantastic artist and creator of custom action figures, is selling his creations on eBay.
Check out the images below the jump, as they are amazing (especially IG-88).

Right on the heels of the news regarding the new ThunderCats cartoon, Icon Heroes has released the first official image (above) of their upcoming 6″ Lion-O Staction Figure. What is a Staction? Well, its a term coined by toy sculptors, The Fourhorsemen when they were advertising their line of He-Man and the Masters of The Universe mini statues back in 2007. A mini statue basically being a non moving action figure. At the time, the He-Man line was being produced by Necca. Since they couldn’t acquire the toy license from owner, Mattel they were not able to produce toys that had action features. So, they found a loop hole. They could produce figures provided they didn’t move. Stationary Action figure, Staction for short.
So, Icon Heroes is in the same boat. The master toy license for ThunderCats has been awarded to Bandai and with that being the case, Icon Heroes were only able to secure a 6″ scale statue license. They will be producing mini statues of the ThunderCats and their minions of Third Earth as well. But it does not stop there, the license will also include vehicle replicas and environmental dioramas all based on the classic, ’80s animated show
The first wave of Staction Figures scheduled for release will consist on Lion-O, Jackal Man, and Jaga.
Again this Thundercats line will based on the classic animated show. As far as we know, it will have no association with the new cartoon.

We here at Nerdbastards are always up for an Optimus Prime story. And this one is a sure crowd pleaser. First let me introduce Robosteel, a company based in Ireland that specializes in making handmade, steel sculptures related to movie-memorabilia, collectibles, sci-fi and fantasy. All of their sculptures and hand welded and each one is unique since many different, recycled parts are used to make each one. The sculptures are made out of, and are not limited to, televisions, cars, motorbikes, airplanes, boats and dishwashers. They are all built to last since they are layered with lacquer, and this way can be left outside of the home if they don’t fit. So now that you have some background info, let me introduce this little gem Robosteel put together, Optimus Prime.

With all the awesome toys being announced at NY Toy Fair (we’ll be putting together a best of list this weekend) 2010 is geared up to be one awesome year for action figure enthusists. Case in point. We’re finally getting action figures of Adult Swims The Venture Bros ( it’s about goddamn time). However, this is yet another year where toy companies have failed to announce some of nerd pop cultures most wanted toys. In recent years us nerds have been privileged to buy just about every character , in action figure form, from every nerd medium. Its been great but there are some no brainer toys that should have been made by now. A few months ago we compiled a list of the most wanted non-existing action figures. Sadly not one of these most wanted toys were announced at this years NY Toy Fair. We’ve decided to re-post this list as a request to the toy companies (you know who you are) to get on the ball and deliver these toys in 2011

WTF?Posted by Luke Gallagher
Really what does one say when encountered by a product of epic, WTF proportions such as this? I really don’t know where one can buy this Wonder Woman crazy foam but why would you want to? Hell, why would anyone even make a product like this? What kid would be thrilled to get a Wonder Woman that spits out foamy white stuff from her mouth? Superman and certain real-life nerds may fantasize about such things but if I were a kid and you gave this to me I would call you an asshole.

Dammit! Just when I thought I would never have to step into another Build-A-Bear again they had to go and do this. RebelScum reports that there are now 5 collectible Star Wars designs for your furry companions. Including Anakin Skywalker and Captain Rex from The Clone Wars, Darth Vader from the films, a generic Jedi Champ, and a scruffy puppy dressed in Star Wars pajamas. As much as I hate this store, I may just have to go in and get myself a Darth Teddy, he is pretty dam cute. I will not, though, be subjected to that whole, sing, dance, make a wish crap they make you do. Well, if the girl stuffing my Teddy (hehe) is cute I might have to make an exception with this too.

( No offense to the handicapped but who wants to play with a toy of a guy in a wheelchair?)
Mattel’s line of Avatar toys is now available for preorder, and the descriptions on the packaging tell us a great deal more about the Na’Vi, the RDA forces, and the creatures that inhabit Pandora. Now, I’m as excited for AVATAR as the next guy but if these figures are a sign of things to come then this movie is going to be an EPIC FAIL.

Actually as a fellow obsessive collector, someone who is prepared to invest more time, money and pain I can’t judge this guy. Hell I really admire him. Sure all his cool swag probably isn’t gold with the ladies but when you got a pad like this who cares? I also appreciate that this guy (whoever he is) isn’t afraid to display his treasure out of their original packaging. Perhaps when you’re as rich as he is collector value ceases to hold any meaning but this is how shit should be displayed.

You probably won’t see this Star Wars Playset on toy shelves anytime soon as its a bit inappropriate for children but Hasbro is certainly going to try and make it happen. They featured this little gem at San Diego Comic Con with a sign next to it asking if fans wanted to see this toy made. In my opinion, good god YES!!. Who wouldn’t want a Vader on the Barbie?
