Every day the internet produces an astounding amount of goodies and gems. Most hilarious, some amusing, but all worth at least a few seconds of your time. We here at Nerd Bastards try to bring you the best bits of news and nerdery the webz has to offer, with a bit of snark thrown in. But sometimes not everything makes the cut.

Monday through Friday we’ll be bringing you our inbox leftovers, our forgotten bookmarks, the nerdy bits that simply slipped through the cracks. You can submit items to Nerdy Bits by emailing us at nerdybits@nerdbastards.com.

This is simply kick-ass. It’s a live action stunt recreation of one of  Catwoman’s fight scenes from Batman: Arkham City by Thousand Pounds Action Company. They’ve also recreated Street Fighter and Naruto fight scenes. Watch this stuntwoman takedown street thugs with impressive combos, and yes, a whip. (Comics Alliance)

An updated version of Goodnight, Moon for the digital generation by Ann Droyd (Seriously). It only needs a Christopher Walken narration and it would be perfect. (Laughing Squid)

Somehow those Stark words always ring true. Particularly in Fall. Of course, Game of Thrones doesn’t return till Spring…grrr. (Geeks of Doom)

So, this is a real statue in Rome. Maybe this is commemorating when Clark revealed his secret identity to Batman. And Batman’s all like, “I already knew, bro, I’m Batman.” Either way, this is awesome, I wonder what other odd super hero statues are hidden around Europe. Is there a Batman and Robin, Jason Todd, pieta? (GeekTyrant)

It’s an age old debate, is Batman the cure for crime in Gotham City, or the cause? Obviously, Gotham was a mighty big shit hole before he starting jumping rooftops dressed as a bat, but, if we use The Dark Knight as a major argument against, crazy villains like the Joker only appear after Batman. And hell, if you want to go with the comic book origin, Batman literally created the Joker by throwing poor Jack Napier into a vat of acid. Maybe it was an accidental shove, but still, without a Batman there wouldn’t be a Joker.

It is this timeless fanboy headache the crew of Cracked’s After Hours bring to the table in their newest episode, Why Batman Is Secretly Terrible for Gotham. You might remember these guys (and girl) from Why Star Wars is Secretly Terrifying for Women, in which they made some pretty eye-opening remarks. But is Batman truly bad for Gotham?

As expected things get heated when debating the usefulness of the world’s favorite crime fighter. Then things get really heated. Like steamy. Watch for yourself and feel free to weigh in below. Me? Batman is completely necessary. Who else would I obsess over? Superman? Puh-leaze!

Why Batman Is Secretly Terrible for Gotham — powered by Cracked.com

If you’re a veteran internet time-waster the website, Cracked.com is an old, dear friend. Their countless amusing lists, 6 Bizzarelly Moments from the Mario Universe, 8 Things to Try if You Get Trapped in a Time Loop and 8 Famous Movies Made by the Last Person You’d Ever Suspect to name a few, are the most engrossing articles of useless knowledge you’ll ever spend hours digesting. Turns out their videos are freakin’ hilarious and super informative as well. Let’s take the latest After Hours discussion featured, Why Star Wars is Secretly Terrifying for Women. After Hours is a web series featuring Daniel O’Brien, Katie Willert, Soren Bowie and Michael Swaim. They gather at Pat & Lorraines in Los Angeles to discuss all sorts of vital pop culture issues like Which Ninja Turles Are You? Life Most Important Question or How Breakfast Cereal Mascots Brainwashed You. These are import discussions worth having, don’t forget.

Back to their most recent episode, Why Star Wars is Secretly Terrifying to Women. Watch it below and then join me after the jump for some analysis from this slightly disenchanted female Star Wars fan.

If Pokemon Were More Realistic

We’ve seen countless videos parodying the obvious but unseen truth of Pokemon abuse (hunting of innocent and rare creatures, imprisoning them in tiny balls and making them fight each other on a daily basis), but this latest one from Cracked.com is perhaps the most shocking depiction. You’ll cry.. or maybe smile. Depends what kind of sick bastard you are.

If Pokemon Were More Realistic — powered by Cracked.com

OK, couple things wrong with this video. 1. The Pokeballs break the law of conversion of mass so it doesn’t work realistically. But maybe that’s the point. How would you feel after being crammed into 4×4 inch circle? 2. Ash would never put Pikachu in the Pokeball in the first place! He’s racist that way. For this video to be more “realistic” it should have shown Ash being arrested for animal cruelty and maybe truancy. Fucker never goes to school.

Regardless, poor Pikachu. His limp body and sad dying face being pulled back into the wind will haunt me.

What if Movie Titles Were Honest?

30

Movie titles and posters can be very, very misleading. They can often make you think that a movie is about one thing, and then when you actually go see it, it turns out it is about something else.

So, Cracked.com decided to put it to their readers in a competition to create movie posters that actually showcased the sad (and often hilarious) truth of movies. The response was overwhelming, so they decided to post the top 30 entries here.

But, for those of you that don’t want to travel to another site – you are in luck. All you need to do is sit back, relax, and go through the gallery below the jump.

My personal favorite are numbers: 24, 11, 7, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1. What are yours?

Nicholas Cage Is That Damn Good

Cracked.com has caught my eye. Brought to my attention, I was ROLLING over this post. Not everyone can be a Nicholas Cage fan like myself, some cynics out there have gone so far to make a hilarious template based on Cage’s interchangeable performances. After the jump is an extremely clever and fun poke at Mr. Cage, while I don’t agree (Completely) with all their opinons, I couldn’t help but find this unique. (more…)
