So there was kind of a big story the other day that there was some difficulty in casting Guy Ritchie‘s live-action adaptation of Aladdin. The difficulty was that Disney was having a hard time finding a young man and woman of Middle Eastern or Indian descent to play the lead roles, even after a worldwide casting search of some 2,000 potentials. Remember that? Well, forget it! As revealed at D23 today, Disney and Ritchie have found their Aladdin and Jasmine.  (more…)

If it wasn’t for Star WarsAvengers: Infinity War would probably be the biggest thing at D23 today. The third Avengers movie is not only the next chapter in the highly lucrative series, but its the culmination of 10 years and nearly 20 Marvel Studios movies. That fact was gently reinforced at D23 today, and then they rolled the first footage anyone has ever seen anywhere as Thanos finally does it himself.  (more…)

Mark Ruffalo says no Hulk Stand Alone Movie
If you’re waiting on news for a third (and possibly good) Incredible Hulk standalone movie inside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, you may be waiting a long… long time. Speaking with Variety at D23, current Bruce Banner/Hulk star Mark Ruffalo rather bluntly laid out the bad news of the less than jolly green giant getting his own movie again any time soon: (more…)

It’s tough to name a successful video game movie, but there’s been at least a couple of good movies that are about video games, and one of them is Wreck-It Ralph. Among the slate of upcoming releases being teased and talked about at D23 is the sequel, Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2, an adventure that promises to be as big as the internet itself. New details about the film were revealed at the expo, as well a scene that may represent the biggest cartoon character crossover since Who Framed Roger Rabbit(more…)

D23: Incredible Details About ‘The Incredibles 2’

Forget anything from Marvel Studios, the real excitement at the first of D23 concerning superheroes was all about The Incredibles, or rather The Incredibles 2. Writer/director Brad Bird took to the stage to introduce the cast, and give fans an idea of what to expect from this long, long, long awaited sequel to the popular Pixar hit film.  (more…)

It was a very busy news weekend thanks to D23 and new revelations about various Disney projects in the Marvel, Pixar and other subsections of the studio. And, oh yes, Star Wars too. Now the most major of the major revelations had to do with Rogue One, the first of what’s been called the Star Wars Stories series of stand-alone films, but as you know, it is Star Wars: The Force Awakens that will stand-up to close scrutiny first as to the viability of this bold new era of Star Wars in December. Well, J.J. Abrams isn’t worried. The director shared this thoughts on a couple of points concerning Star Wars after the presentation at D23 over the weekend. (more…)

It’s been a day full of news from D23, Disney’s bi-annual celebration of all things Disney. Star Wars has owned the day with all new details about Rogue One, The Force Awakens, and the announcement of their choice to direct Episode IX, but Marvel Studios will not be outdone. You’ve probably read the footage description of Captain America: Civil War, but Marvel has two big movies coming out in 2016, and the other is Doctor Strange. Of course, the big screen adaptation of the Sorcerer Supreme is another gamble for Marvel, but the movie’s lead is pretty confident in the material saying that Doctor Strange promises”girls, cars, explosions, and astral projections into multiple universes; The usual fare.” (more…)

As we figured they would, Disney unleashed footage today at their annual D23 Expo from Marvel’s highly anticipated Captain America: Civil War. Disney/Marvel haven’t released this footage online yet, but there are first hand accounts and descriptions to go by that paint a very clear picture. From the sound of things, this looks to be Marvel’s biggest cinematic construct yet. (more…)

There has been a lot of speculation as to what Spider-Man‘s costume will look like when he appears in Captain America: Civil War. There have been a number of supposed descriptions and renderings on the costume – some being very far removed from the original source material.  Now another image has surfaced claiming to be the first look at the webslinger. Is this just another fan made look, or is it legit? (more…)
