The audience for AMC’s The walking Dead is huge. Bigger even than the shambling multitude of corpses that chase its protagonists around our screens every Sunday night. Now that the show has earned its well-deserved eighth season renewal, there’s no reason to think that the end is in anywhere near in sight. The story of the intrepid band of beleaguered survivors battling undead hordes can’t be contained in a paltry eight seasons. In fact, as Show runner Scott Gimple recently hinted, It can’t even be contained by the small screen.
The latest episode of AMC‘s The Walking Dead just might have a secret or two that fans have uncovered. Daryl (Norman Reedus) didn’t do much talking when he was brought to Alexandria with the Saviors to clean the place out. What he did do was a heck of a lot of blinking. So much in fact that some fans thought it might be Daryl trying to communicate with Rick (Andrew Lincoln) without Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) knowing. Click through to check out this new fan theory. No, this isn’t some new flashback and you do remember it right. Beth, played by Emily Kinney, was killed off at the season five mid-season finale of The Walking Dead. (*Note to those crying SPOILERS!!! Seriously? This has been out and around the Internet so many times that even my relatives on dial-up know about it.) Word is making its way around the Internet today though has Norman Reedus, who is everybody’s favorite redneck zombie killing machine on The Walking Dead, is reportedly now dating Emily Kinney. Nerd Bastards writer Regina Lizik usually does the weekly The Walking Dead write-up, but she’s out this week so I’m filling in. This week’s episode is called Remember. What exactly are our merry band of survivors supposed to be remembering? Before we get into that, I’d like to take a moment to remember an important cast member during the last few seasons that came to an untimely end tonight. Yes, another unsung cast member bit the dust, cut down in the prime of their life, and we watched their life slowly drain away. So consider this your one and only SPOILER WARNING. You click-through and it’s all on you. (more…)
AMC – the network that airs The Walking Dead – issued an apology to fans of the series due to a major miscalculation on their part. The apology was issued due to a spoiler being released shortly after the mid-season finale aired on the East Coast. This kind of thing seems to be happening more frequently nowadays, with news/spoilers spreading like wildfires straight after they have aired on the East Coast. Thusly, all it takes is one person to post the spoiler on their social network feed – create a chain reaction – and ruin it for everyone else. What can one do? Avoid social media altogether? Avoid the internet? It’s difficult to prevent spoilers nowadays, but when it has came about due to a very bad judgement call from the Network that airs the show – that just takes the biscuit. (more…)
Questions have been left unanswered for almost a year now in regards to the Walking Dead‘s Daryl Dixon and his sexual orientation. This has been due to actor Norman Reedus remaining evasive and facetious about his characters sexuality whenever the topic comes up in interviews. Now, Robert Kirkman –creator of the comics and procuder of AMC‘ adaptation –has set the record straight on about the sexual orientation of Dixon. (more…)
Those of us who watch The Walking Dead (which will more than likely be most of us then) know the character of Daryl Dixon to be a tough-as-nails, no-holds-barred, crossbow-wielding-badass. As for Norman Reedus – the actor who plays Daryl – maybe not so much. In a recent magazine interview, Reedus opened up about filming the mid-season finale, which has still to air a week on Sunday, and revealed that he cried for an hour in preparation for filming. Going into season five, The Walking Dead is more popular than it’s ever been, which is probably why on Sunday the National Fan Expo was barely open for business and Constitution Hall was almost full of fans waiting for a panel with Walking Dead cast members. A little over an hour later, the moderator called out the “five of the amazing people from the show; three of whom are still living on it,” and Michael Rooker (Merle Dixon), Lauren Cohan (Maggie Greene), Danai Gurira (Michonne), Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon), and David Morrissey (The Governor) all gathered on stage to a thunderous applause. This has been a hotly debated issue since the doldrums of season 2 of ‘The Walking Dead.’ Way back when Glen proved to us that anyone could get laid during the zombie apocalypse, there was Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier. He was a redneck woodsman with a knack for survival and she was an abused housewife with a need for being saved all the time. They became good friends despite the fact that she was obviously throwing herself at the man. That was while sheriff Rick Grimes was making another baby with his wife Lori and loose cannon Shane let blond cynic Andrea jump up and down on him in a midsize. There was sex to be had on that farm, boys and girls. Yet the asexual backwoods badass was getting and chasing none of it. Series creator Robert Kirkman might know why. (more…)
