He-Man and the Masters of the Universe was at first a toy line (for it’s time, the most popular and profitable toy line in existence), then it was a cartoon (which was basically a 24 minute commercial for said toys) and eventually… a movie. 1987 live-action He-Man movie Masters of the Universe has a reputation for being notoriously bad. The DC Extended Universe continues to grow despite poor reviews on its recent films. It seems nothing will stop the juggernaut production company from bringing about the worlds of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and soon, Aquaman. For those who watched Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice and have been following the news, they already know that Jason Momoa will be playing the titular hero also known as Arthur Curry. For those growing up in the 80s and 90s, the action movie genre was a wellspring of incredible stars duking it out on the big screen. Two of the greatest action stars of the era got together for Universal Soldier as well as its sequels and though they worked constantly since that movie premiered in 1992, they didn’t share the screen again until The Expendables 2 in 2012. Yesterday was the CW‘s day at the Television Critics Association summer press tour, which meant lots and lots of news about all the various shows based on DC Comics characters, what’s sometimes known as the “Arrowverse.” Some of that news, we’ve covered already, but there’s some important casting news that we haven’t reported yet pertaining to two of the CW’s four DCTV shows: Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow. It’s major because in the case of the latter it’s about a member of the Justice Society of America; as for the former it pertains to a Russian villain, and there’s only one name you should get for a Russian villain.
