While certainly not as disturbing as erotic 30 Rock fan fiction, it’s always kind of fascinating to see just how far the goofiest lovers of certain properties will take their adoration. Today, we get to see the strangest (and perhaps whitest) rap battle ever committed in the service of nerdom. Yes, it’s the rhyme-spitting, high noon showdown between two similarly dressed (yet rhythmically opposite) rappers no one saw coming: Superman and Dragon Ball’s Kakarrot. Who thought watching these two throw down like Rabbit and Poppa Doc would be a good idea? Who cares?
Here we go, your weekly taste of the amazing nerd based art to hit the net this week. It’s your Nerd Art Dump, so enjoy this whirlwind trip of the webs finest.

If you are an Anime fan, you’ll know that the three longest running Anime/Manga so far are Once Piece, Naruto and Bleach. I remember these particular Anime/Manga appearing around the end of my freshman and the beginning of my sophomore year of high school. I’m currently a Senior in COLLEGE. So yeah, these three Titans of the Anime/Manga world have been around longer than many other Anime or Manga in ciruculation since Inuyasha, Dragonball Z, and my favorite Sailor Moon, which is making a comeback with bi-monthly reprints that started earlier this year.
In February, a Japanese Magazine made a small announcement that the Bleach anime series would be ending March 27th, and it set the Internet on fire. People began making theories of what would become of Bleach. Some said it would make a comeback with a slightly different name, like Naruto did when it became Naruto: Shippuden and went forward in time from the events of the former series. Others though, began to slowly accept the reality that the show was really over and instead began the contemplation of how long the manga would last.
(original article from Japan announcing the last episode of Bleach)
Seeing as Tite Kubo, the creator of Bleach, has been saying that the current arc of Bleach in manga format will be the “last arc” there has been no definite date or year that this arc will finish. This is what is leading many to speculate that there will be a small break of non-filler/no air time, before they just pop back up with the LAST season. As of today, two days after the set ending of the show, there have been no reports of the show coming back on air just reminders that the manga is still being released.
The U.S & United Kingdom will probably not begin to see the last arc until about a year or so from now, after it is dubbed. Voice actors Johnny Young Bosch, Stephanie Sheh, Michelle Ruff, Jamieson Price, and the other members of the American cast will assuredly be missed for their roles in such a monumental piece of otaku/anime culture that has made a large impact on the current generation of Anime/Manga lovers everywhere.
While I’m sure some Otaku’s may be reading this, my friends included, wondering whether I’ll give spoilers or my opinion on the last episode I’ll just let you know now that I’m not planning on it unless there is a ‘desperate’ need for my opinion. If you’d like to know what happened in the last episode “google it” and you’ll find many blogs that have posted up a play by play with comments on the last episode.
The last episode of the series Ep. 366 entitled Changing History, Unchanging Hearts is part of the 16th Season, also known as the Lost Substitute Shinigami arc. The arc takes place seventeen months after the teenager Ichigo Kurosaki lost his Soul Reaper powers and meets a man known as Kugō Ginjō who proposes him to recover them.
What are your favorite memories involving Bleach? Whether its meeting with friends in High School or College, what was your favorite arc, or if it helped you through a difficult time go ahead and share with us we want to hear your story?
“All I’ve ever wanted to be in life was a super saiyan…” Dude clearly has some high aspirations! If you actually listen to his spiel about how y’all can do anything y’all set your minds to, it’s actually pretty inspiring.
The important part is at 3:30 when he tries for the first time to become a super saiyan. Check this shit out, guys. I don’t even have any jokes for this; you just gotta watch it.
All that inspiring shit he said? Yeah, not quite as awesome now.
It’s always funny trying to degrade those Jersey D-Bags even further, but damn you collegehumor, you’ve ruined a childhood cartoon with the Jersey Shore. I don’t know which is worse: this sketch or the fact that I’m such a huge DBZ fan to know enough about it to hate this sketch. Vegeta would never call Goku “Son Goku” He’d call him Kakarot. Oh fuck me, I’m such a nerd.
It would have been much more satisfying if Goku just destroyed those attention sluts. Eh, liver failure and skin and lung cancer will eventually do that in real life, so at least we have that.
Check out for yourself what would go down if Goku & company landed on the Jersey Shore.
If there is one thing that will always creep me out to a certain extent, it would be the whole realistic art thing. Just something about each one that makes it to the internet has something creepy about them and yeah, just bugs me.
Anyway, Samuel Cazetta Arlindo, who goes by the name Cazetta on deviantART, has been doing some realistic art by bring some video game characters and two anime characters to life. Arlindo bought six characters from the Super Street Fighter 4 cast (Ryu, Sagat, Abel, Gouken, Dudley and Dhalsim). As for the anime characters, Arlindo decided to bring the two androids from Dragon Ball Z, Android 19 and Dr.Gero/Android 20.
Click the jump button to check out the images Cazetta has done as they are all done very well and see if you get that creepy feeling that I get.
What in the blue hell is this? After all these years, they now decide to edit Mr. Popo’s appearance? Now, Dragon Ball Z was always edited on TV for the blood, violence, and sometimes nudity. 14 years ago, when Dragon Ball Z first aired, Mr. Popo always appeared as the black genie-esque servant of Kami. Now fast forward to 2010, after Dragon Ball Z Kai’s premiere on NickToons with pretty much the same edits mentioned earlier, we still get the good old Mr. Popo in his regular form. But, for some reason, couple months later with CW’s airing of DBZ Kai, we get an even more edited version of the show.
What else was edited you ask, well, bullets turned into laser, Vegeta was eating a blue fruit instead of some alien hand, and Goku’s halo was turned into some glowing orb above his head. But if you ask me, this whole Mr. Popo edited to a blue being is a little too much. Why change his look now? I know this isn’t the first time this station has changed the skin tone of an anime character but this, this is a bit much. What do you guys think? Do you think I’m over reacting or do you think CW and Funimation may have gone a bit too far with this one? Check the video out and tell us what you think.
