The folks over at Comingsoon landed some face time with the stars and director of G.I.Joe:Retaliation and produced this interview video of their talks with: Director Jon Chu, Dwayne Johnson (Roadblock), Adrianne Palicki (Lady Jaye) and D.J. Cotrona (Flint).
There’s plenty of nice little bits about the movie and characters as well as their love of the G.I.Joe franchise and hopes of living up to G.I.Joe fan-boys expectations everywhere.
G.I. Joe: Retaliation opens nationwide on June 29.
This NerdBastard has gotten that “Khannnnnnnnnnn!!!!!” feeling about G.I.Joe: Retaliation.
What’s this “Khannnnnnnnnnn!!!!!” feeling you speak of?
That’s the deep in your gut feeling that the second movie of the franchise is going to be way better than the first. Just look at this trailer. When the Hollywood powers that be announced a second G.I.Joe movie we all had some of the same thoughts:
Oh hell, not another one.
Pissing on my childhood once wasn’t enough . . .
What the hell kind of mess is this gonna be.
This trailer should set all those fears aside. This NerdBastard doesn’t know where to start with all the awesomeness that is in this trailer. Watch it and tell your fellow NerdBastards what you think.
Will it be the best in a long line of G.I.Joe movies?
Paramount has released a pile of character posters today for G.I. Joe Retaliation each one premiering on a different site on the ‘net. Seriously Paramount? You’re going to make me surf back and forth over the internet for these?
While I found 2009’s G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra very painful to watch, I will not lie. I am really looking forward to this movie. From the trailers to the stills, it looks like a damn fun one.
As for the posters we get Cobra Commander (whole finally looks like Cobra Commander) Snake Eyes (Ray Park), Storm Shadow (Byung-hun Lee), Jinx (Elodie Yung), Lady Jaye (Adrianne Palicki), Roadblock (played by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson), Duke (sadly still played by Channing Tatum) and Bruce Willis, who stars as Bruce Willis.

The new International teaser trailer for Ridley Scott’sAlien prequel “Prometheus” has hit the Internet. Like most of it’s movie blockbuster trailer counterparts it’s got just enough changes and additions to the domestic trailer that fans will want to check it out.
“Prometheus” stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron,Idris Elba, Sean Harris, Kate Dickie, Rafe Spall, Logan Marshall-Green, Guy Pearce, and Patrick Wilson.
Film synopsis: Ridley Scott, director of “Alien” and “Blade Runner,” returns to the genre he helped define. With PROMETHEUS, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.
Maybe in space, no one will hear you scream on June 8th, 2012, but if your sitting next to this NerdBastard in the theater and scream . . . your getting a lap full of popcorn, hot buttery popcorn.
If you haven’t seen the International poster yet, you can see it here.
After the first G.I.Joe movie with wisecracking Marlon Wayans, worst casting ever, this NeredBastard wasn’t hopeful about a sequel that takes off after the last movie ended. Then the first trailer came out and with the casting of The Rock and Bruce Willis, this just might be the G.I.Joe movie fans have been waiting for.
The new international trailer builds off a solid tradition of badassery that follows generally the same pattern as the first theatrical trailer. The Joes are set up by President Zartan, Channing Tatum probably dies, and the survivors seek revenge.
What fans didn’t get until now is a preview of the Snake Eyes-Storm Shadow fight and President Zartan complimenting Cobra Commander on his new “cool mask.” (Thank the Lords of Kobal for Cobra Commander’s proper mask!) Throw in scenes where Jinx has more opportunity to shine in all her ninja glory and this NerdBastard had to go spend some time in his bunk.
If you were a fan of the latestAmazing Spider-Man trailer, then you are going to straight-up love the international trailer. Mostly because it’s the exact same thing…with about four additional shots. Still, we’re talking about Marc Webb‘s July 3 reboot of the Spider-Man franchise with Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, Sally Field and Denis Leary, so anything new is worth pointing out. Check out the trailer below.
The first full trailer for G.I.Joe: Retaliation has hit the net and it looks . . .
All the bells and whistles that belong in a good G.I.Joe story are there:
Snake Eyes – Check!
RoadBlock – Check!
Scarlet – Check!
Jinx – Check!
Duke – Check!
Explosions, Guns, Ninjas – Check!
Cobra doing the nasty stuff – Check!
That is the WHITE HOUSE flying COBRA flags up there. The Rock playing Roadblock is genius. He knows how to deliver the action one liners that we’ll all howl with laughter at. Not to mention that Bruce Willis, the high king of the snarky action hero is the man G.I.Joe turns to when the going gets tough. When I saw the 20 second cut of this trailer the other day I was not impressed. This trailer will put my ass in the theater seat June 29th, 2012.
Let your fellow NerdBastards know what you think about this trailer and the G.I. Joe movie franchise as it stands now.
If it’s one thing I hate…it’s being teased. Not “Your dick’s so small, you can masturbate through the slits in a fork” kind of teasing, I mean teasing me with footage of a flick I don’t want to be dicked around with. Entertainment Tonight does it to me every-time. On top of their obnoxiously loud TV theme and fart talkin’ hosts, they are notorious for showing 10+ second previews of an exclusive trailer they’re eventually going to show you. And they’ve done it again. This time with Jon Chu’s G.I. Joe: Retaliation. The video below is a tease of a teaser that will be shown on Monday. The full trailer will be released on Tuesday. In the 18 second clip we see our first look at some actual footage from the movie showing off Bruce Willis as Joe Colton, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as Roadblock, and Adrianne Palicki as Lady Jay. Check it out below:
The last G.I. Joe movie was a wasted opportunity. I hated it so fucking much. It’s like the makers of the movie were ashamed of embracing what G.I. Joe was. Now, in this preview I can’t judge whether or not the sequel will be any better, but I am cautiously optimistic.
On a side note: Our friends and comicbookmovie got an email tip last night from someone who claims to have worked on the G.I. Joe: Retaliation set who claims that the original Sgt. Slaughter himself (Robert Remus) will be appearing in the G.I. Joe sequel. The source claims that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson came up with the idea for a cameo for his wrestling buddy and that the films producers and director John Chu were all for it. Reportedly, the Joe’s will be on the run from Cobra at some point during the film and Roadblock (Dwayne Johnson) states he knows where they can hide out for a while, with the man who trained him to be a Joe. Enter Sgt. Slaughter and the Slaughter House.
Please, oh please let this be true. I’m a huge Sgt. Slaughter and would totally geek the fuck out if I saw him on screen.
There’s been a lot of news recently about the upcoming GI Joe sequel GI Joe: Retaliation, but one particular head snapping bit is the rumored casting of Bruce Willis.
Earlier today Roadblock himself, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson took to Twitter from the set and confirmed the speculation:
“Welcome brother Bruce Willis to the cast of GI Joe! What an honor.”
Don’t believe us then check out the undoctored proof:
Dwayne, a.k.a. @TheRock, has to be working for Cobra because someone with nearly a million followers doesn’t go and ruin something like this. He could have gotten into a ton of shit for spilling the beans, but maybe the studio ok’d it. My guess is no.
It has already been known that Bruce Willis will be taking the role of the original GI Joe, Joe Colton. While Spyglass entertainment or Paramount studios hasn’t commented on the truth to this news leak yet, it’s sure thing that you don’t go against the word of a 16-time WWE champion.
Wrestling junkies and nerds are rare, but I got goose bumps, I did and I’m not ashamed. I. AM. A WRESTLINGNERDBASTARD.
So Superstar turned Hollywood Box Office cash box, The Rock, has finally returned to Smackdown’s 10 year Anniversary in God’s country, Boston. For a HILARIOUS tongue in cheek poke at his new found film status. Admit it, his Disney fam friendly “The Game Plan”, a reversal of “Big Daddy”, banked over 100 mill at the Box Office. “Escape from Witch Mountain”, made a massive haul as well. As other wrestlers have tried and failed, The Rock made a successful transition. So, it is a very funny turn on the Rock’s demeanor, feigning primadonna-ism…Watch it, until it gets too wrestly for you.
