Remember when Late Night TV was actually watched on late night TV?
Pepperidge Farm remembers.
The skits that were usually worth staying up late for, are now uploaded to the Internet the same night or following morning. Screw the delightful and sometimes lame host-to-guest inquires and banter. It’s all about making with the funny and getting those bits to go viral on the Internet.
So here we are, with relatively new Late Night star James Corden throwing his weight around against the Late Night Power House Jimmies, Kimmel and Fallon. Corden recently took over The Late Late Show from Craig Ferguson and to kick things off, he had Hanks help kick things off with a bang by acting out the Oscar-winner’s entire filmography in less than seven minutes. Now Corden is back with another Hollywood icon to do it all over again. This time it’s Terminator franchise star Arnold Schwarzenegger, and the pair does all his movies in six minutes. (more…)
Our friends at Screen Junkies have submitted another entry in their ongoing Honest Trailer YouTube series. This time, they breath their fiery verbal quips and cynicism onto The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. Before you say goodbye to Middle Earth with The Battle of the Five Armies, relive The Desolation of Smaug, the bloated second chapter in Peter Jackson’s mercilessly long Hobbit trilogy. (more…)
Looking back on AMC‘s award winning Breaking Bad series, the only thing I regret not seeing is Walter White (Bryan Cranston) and Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) singing. now we don’t have to imagine what it might have been like thanks to the folks over at Animeme and Toonocracy. They teamed up and produced this little animated video gem. (more…)
Celebrities impersonating other celebrities, like most things, usually either crash and burn like the Hindenburg, or as in the case with Benedict Cumberbatch, knock it out of the park. What’s even more impressive about Cumberbatch, is the that in this video, he does multiple impersonations in a 60 second window. (more…)
The newest addition to the “Everything Wrong With…” series by the guys at Cinema Sins takes apart Bryan Singer‘s X-Men: Days of Future Past in a 14 minute video that might make Singer want to turn back time for realsies if he happens to see it. Among other things, the video attacks the film’s reliance on overused tropes, poorly explained science that wouldn’t even hold up in the comic books, under using characters like Quicksilver and Storm, and the fact that none of us would kick Mystique out of bed for eating crackers whether she’s all blue and scaly or not. (more…)
Once we saw the Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer and heard that haunting Pinocchio music and lyrics, we knew there would be mashups, the only thing missing was Sean Bean’s Eddard Stark warning us that the Mashups were coming. We’ve gathered a few to take the edge off until we get Tuesday’s new Avengers: Age of Ultron footage during Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (more…)
“I miss when SNL was funny” is a statement you often hear around the water cooler, but not today. SNL and Chris Pratt nailed it last night with this parody that isn’t too far from the truth.
There’s a new group of blockbusters coming down the pipe from Marvel, including Bus People, Fancy Ghosts and Some Shopping Carts. (more…)
For those of you younger readers this might not seem like much of a big deal. It’s just another blooper reel, there are hundreds on the Internet at a click of a mouse button. For those of us old enough to remember the Before Times of the Internet, we remember seeing the mythical original series Star Trek Blooper Reel once or perhaps twice a year in a crowded, unusually hot hotel conference room at the annual local Sci-Fi convention. No one even had it on VHS back then unless you bought it off the bootleg video table. You could always find it in a darkened corner of your local comic book convention. You knew the table because every VHS tape had a photocopied cover. Now you just click and enjoy. (more…)
I’m just going to throw this out there: If you’ve never had the opportunity to view any of Animation Domination High-Def’s series of “Scientifically Accurate” cartoon jingles, based on the opening theme songs and credits of some of pop culture’s most beloved animated characters, then you are doing yourself a grave disservice. Let me tell ya, they are a beauty to behold. ADHD has already tackled DuckTales and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but the animation group has a new target: Chip ‘n Dale’s Rescue Rangers. If you’re ancient like me, you’ll remember the series featuring the title characters solving crimes and what-not with their mice companions Monterey Jack and Gadget and the housefly Zipper. No set up I could give this video would do it justice, so just give it a look. (more…)
