Game of Thrones Season 7

Last week’s penultimate episode of Game of Thrones continued the series long tradition delivering a jaw dropping episode. In last week’s episode, the “magnificent seven” went north of The Wall to secure a wight for the purpose of convincing Cersei and everyone that their beef over the iron throne pales in comparison to the real war. It was epic as they faced off against a horde of the dead. Lucky for them, Daenerys was able to come in and save their butts courtesy of her three dragons. Unluckily for her, the Night King used an ice spear to take down her dragon Viserion and later on reanimate him as an undead dragon. As they sailed to King’s Landing for the summit, Jon decided to finally bend the knee to Danny. But was their trials and sacrifices worth it? How did this week’s episode of Game of Thrones go?

They promised us that “Winter Has Come” and it sure did on tonight’s episode of Game of Thrones! This week’s episode “Beyond The Wall” took place primarily beyond the wall as Jon Snow’s “Suicide Squad” went North in the hopes of capturing a live wight in the hopes of convincing Cersei and Daenerys to put their beef on hold so that everyone can form an alliance to fight the Night King and the upcoming army of the dead. No matter what power plays are going on in Game of Thrones, the endgame has always been the Long Night and the terror that may come, who rules is small potatoes. But their quest will not be easy, they will have to face-off against the army of the dead in an unfamiliar territory (for most of them). So how did this week’s episode of Game of Thrones go?

It was going to be hard to match last week’s kickass, balls to the wall, super awesome dragon action third act of Game of Thrones. After all, we finally got to see Danny going to war with the Lannisters herself, riding on top of Drogon, and setting countless soldiers ablaze. She also had that massive Dothraki horde as well. Every single frame of that episode was epic and really upped the ante for a show that has consistently amazed us as each episode continues since its beginning. So with such a massive episode last week, how did this week’s episode of Game of Thrones go?

The last 20 minutes of Game of Thrones last night was astounding. You can check our recap here. Although we have seen the dragons in action countless other times on the show, “The Spoils of War” was the first time we got to not only see the Dothraki army in full on action, but they also had a Drogon riding Daenerys laying waste to the Lannister Army. Everyone’s timelines were on fire talking about that epic scene and we’re all looking forward to what happens next on Game of Thrones.

It’s not even the last season of the show (let alone the last episode of the penultimate season) and Game of Thrones keeps getting better and better. Last week we saw the long-awaited meeting of Daenerys and Jon Snow. Unfortunately, things did not go as well as Jon had planned in their first awkward encounter. Daenerys did allow Jon to mine for dragon glass in her ancestral home in the hopes of the two forming an alliance. Sansa and Bran reunited in Winterfell. Unfortunately, Bran is now not really Bran and with his Three Eyed Raven powers have become someone else and not really able to know how to relate to his sister (evidenced by the fact that he tells her how beautiful she was on the night she was raped). It looks like it’s the last time we will see the San Snakes of Dorne as Cersei gave Ellaria’s daughter a poison kiss and forced her to watch her die. Lastly, Daenerys’ Unsullied army took Casterly Rock, but the Lannister army wasn’t really there as they took over Highgarden where Jamie came face to face with Olenna Tyrell who gave him the ultimate shade with her dying breath. As we are not almost halfway through the seventh season (why is there only 7 episodes?!?), how did this week of Game of Thrones end up?

Last week on Game of Thrones, Danny finally got dealt her first taste of defeat. Her allies, the Greyjoy siblings, as well as the San Snakes of Dorne, suffered a sneak attack at the hands of Euron’s crazy self. This caused the kidnapping of Dorne’s queen Ellaria and her only living daughter Tyene to be Euron’s gift Cersei. Sam played the most ruthless game of “Operation” as he attempted to heal Jorah from his Gray Scale, while Arya also reunited with her long lost direwolf Nymeria while en route North to unite with Sansa and Jon. Of course, Jon decided to head south to meet Daenerys to cop a plea for an alliance against Sansa’s wishes (will all the Stark kids ever officially reunite?), but he overruled her and made her the temporary Queen of the North in his place. With all sorts of pieces in motion, how did this week of Game of Thrones end up?

Last week marked the beginning of the end of Game of Thrones as all the pieces are moving into place. Cersei is shoring up alliances as she knows Daenerys will be coming for the throne. That means partnering with Euron Greyjoy and his massive fleet. After trying his best to insult Jamie, Euron promises a gift for the queen worthy of marriage. Arya is continuing her quest for vengeance, having taken out all the Freys. Jon finds out that his own sister might be a thorn in his side as King of the North. Sam learns the hard end of trying to become a master in The Citadel, cleaning up a lot of crap and the others not hearing him out on things. Of course, Daenerys finally lands at her ancestral home. Once again, the throne is up for grabs to whoever plays this game the best! So how did this week go?

Game of Thrones

The wait is finally over. Winter has finally come! Complete with an HBO countdown clock, Game of Thrones returned to the premiere pay channel Sunday night, and when last we left off, Daenerys was on her way to Westeros and had teamed up with the Greyjoy siblings, the Tyrells, and the Sands to take the fight to Cersei and claim the throne.

Cersei had not only defeated the High Sparrow, but after unleashing Wildfire like the Mad King did before her, she now has assumed the throne (thanks to her son’s suicide), and her brother-lover Jaime doesn’t look too happy about it.

Arya started to enact her vengeance and killed Walder Frey after serving him his own sons as part of a meat pie! Sam has made it to the Citadel to learn from the Maesters on how to stop the White Walkers. Jon Snow has been crowned King of the North by the Northern families, oh yeah, and he’s also Lyanna Stark’s bastard child, not Ned’s, which means Jon’s really a Targaryen! With so many running stories, Season 7 promises to be exciting!
